  1. That's brilliant, thanks very much. I was just looking at this https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-USB-Type-C-Micro-B-Cable/dp/B01LONQ7R6/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=usb+c+male+to+micro+usb+male+cable&qid=1588176634&sr=8-4
  2. Thanks, so I just need to get the correct OTG cable then use a suitable app?
  3. At the risk of appearing like a neanderthal, is it possible to transfer a PQ from my Samsung Tab A tablet? Thanks for your help.
  4. I'm having trouble getting offline maps to appear in cgeo on my Nokia 6 and my Samsung SM-531F. I've dowloaded the maps onto sd cards from mapsforge without any problem but when in cgeo-Menu-settings-maps I cannot get them to appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bizarrely I've used these for the past 18 months or so but have messed up when trying to update my maps! Thanks, Slowfox
  5. Thanks but I'm not too sure what you mean. Do I need to get into settings in WhreYouGo?
  6. Not sure if my problem is related but when I download a Wherigo cartridge instead of going to my WhereYouGo app on my android phone it just downloads into downloads. I don't know what's happened as it has worked fine for the last year or so. Any suggestions gratefully received.
  7. Just had the sameproblem as ctunkta068! Any help appreciated, Thanks
  8. Many thanks, it's working a treat; I still don't know what I was doing wrong before. Trouble is it's 6 months since I last published a cache and the grey matter hadn't remembered all the little tricks of the trade! Thanks again for your help, happy caching!
  9. I'm struggling to get photos on my cache description page; I'm just getting a tiny postage stamp picture. I've uploaded loads of photos in the past without a problem and wonder if something has changed. I've uploaded the photo to my cache description and the URL for it is https://d1u1p2xjjiah...3d05202ae_l.jpg ie not an http prefix, it appears in the description but is tiny and I have tried inserting /large/ but without success! Any help much appreciated. Happy caching.
  10. A similar problem for me; I've uploaded loads of photos in the past without a problem and wonder if something has changed. I've uploaded the photo to my cache description and the URL for it is https://d1u1p2xjjiahg3.cloudfront.net/8bbe393d-0c48-4e38-ac43-75f3d05202ae_l.jpg ie not an http prefix, it appears in the description but is tiny and I have tried inserting /large/ but without success! Any help much appreciated. Happy caching.
  11. That's a shame as there are 4 within 15km of here now and they are being found! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
  12. I put this URL in as a background image and got nothing! http://www.placespotting.com/imagelink.php?placeId=12FF-5448BBC4-1837 I'm trying to do a cache a bit like WHERE WILL THE MEGA BE HELD, GC4YX9W but am failing miserably.....old person's syndrome perhaps. Any more ideas very welcome, Thanks
  13. Thanks, I've tried that and centered it and it works but the image is tiny. Maybe I should leave it like that and sandwich it between 2 big photos?
  14. I'm struggling with getting the right html coding for an image in a cache description via Placespotting. I'm using: <iframe width="302" height="198" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://www.placespotting.com/imagelink.php?placeId=12FF-5448BBC4-1837"></iframe><br/> But it doesn't work....think I'm missing some small but vital ingredient! Any help much appreciated, Thanks.
  15. Similar problem when trying to upload a photo after logging a cache. When I click on upload it just returns me to all my photos and does not upload the image selected. It can't be me as I've done this 100s of times....there has to be a glitch at GCHQ? I decided to get rid of my hoover as it was just gathering dust!
  16. Thanks but although I've got GSAK and use it for my PQs I'm still no further forward.
  17. I've stopped using the proximity alarm as following the instruction on p24 of the handbook I found I had to set an alarm for every cache. Does anyone know how you can set an alarm for all caches ie make it so you don't have to set it cache by cache? Thanks.
  18. Yabba dabba doo!!!! Now I'm cooking on gas....can't believe I missed the = sign in the previous post. Huge thanks to niraD,frinklabs and Bear and Ragged for all your help and patience. Now I can use a wet day in the alps to improve my descriptions before this weekend's event cache. Happy caching to all and thanks again.
  19. Thank you; this is what I used in the long description, when in edit cache mode with the HTML box checked as suggested but nothing changed....I'm sure I'm missing something very basic somewhere. Please help an old person!!! <img src"http://imgcdn.geocaching.com/cache/large/286cde7f-2be6-463c-ac4d-67fbe971a596.jpg" />
  20. This is the first cache I'm trying to get a photo in the description of http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC59KAT_sdc-1?guid=e5846ddd-d416-479b-a27d-1ab1e672e2e6
  21. I have tried using the edit cache function but when I paste in this, all I get is exactly what I paste. ie I do not get an image http://imgcdn.geocaching.com/cache/large/286cde7f-2be6-463c-ac4d-67fbe971a596.jpg Have spent hours and hours on it now.....grrrr! Help please?
  22. Yes the HTML box was ticked. This is the URL I pasted in to the "Image properties" pop up box on the image section of long description http://imgcdn.geocaching.com/cache/large/286cde7f-2be6-463c-ac4d-67fbe971a596.jpg I've just set up a new cache and it worked OK. Could the problem have been that I'd saved it in an archived cache? Another question; can I upload an image to the description once the cache has been published? Many thanks for your patience with an old person! Slowfox
  23. Yes, I've ticked the HTML box. I've got the image as a background no problem. However, I rushed to get the caches published and so now my new problem is ....can I upload an image into the description or am I too late? Thanks again, Slowfox
