  1. We are lurkers! Everyone on these forums are so knowledgeable we don't feel qualified enough yet to post opinions with only 1100+ caches.
  2. It has affected our community of Geocachers. Check out .This log. October 27 by FlagMan (423 found) I'm sorry to report that it appears that we lost our house and everything in it in the Scripps Ranch fire. Bunthorne is probably in the same shape. Reports are that there is only 1 house still standing on our street. Team Gecko is probably o.k. since they are on the north side of Pomerado and only one neighbohood over there was hit. Most of the damage was South of Pomerado. We were not able to get anywhere on the South side of Pomerado last night and are hoping to being able to get up there today. Yesterday was a very eerie day. First, I drove the entire fireline from Blair Valley (no fire nearby, but this was probably beyond the Alpine extension of the fire) all the way into Scripps Ranch, then diverted around to the I-5 and down to Point Loma. Then it was all day long glued to the tv waiting for news. Somewhere around 7 pm or so, one of our neighbors finally convinced a police officer to drive our street and report back. The report was only 1-house standing. I then went back up and tried to get in, but after a couple hours of trying to get around various roadblocks, I made it as far as Semillon and Pomerado Road and gave up. The police there also confirmed the prior reports. I almost convinced them to drive me in so I could see for myself, but was turned down. We are preparing to go back up this morning.
  3. Check the latest log on this cache:http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=72232 September 24 by Coppa2207 (jhpd22) (3 found) We found the logbook in the ziplock bag under the tree where the cache was. The last entry was on 8/24/2003 by some idiot named "Cache Raider". It said that "I liked the cache so much, I took it" Thanks a lot moron. I took the log book and will return it to the Triangulated Trio. [view this log on a separate page]
  4. Well, you really need to give more information so you can receive a knowledgeable answer. Like "what color socks are you wearing?" or "How may eyelet's in your shoes"
  5. Never mind. We goofed. We posted duplicate coordinates for the caches. Trying to learn HTML and got things screwed up.
  6. It means that we submitted caches named A, B, C and recieved e-mail replies that they were accepted but when we submitted cache D the e-mail reply was for cache B. Same for cache E. Numerous times.
  7. Is there a limit to the number of caches you can submit at one time? We have placed a series of caches (seventeen) at different locations along a 28 mile trolly line to be accessed by riding the trolley to the sites. We tried to submit them but after the third one every one we sent came back the same as the second cache we submitted. Anyone?
  8. The clue says under an olive tree......Now what does an olive tree look like?
  9. Same here. It's been going on for a couple of days now.

  11. This one: GC43C9 Asymptotic Linked List http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=17353 Some day we will learn how to post links. The other poster claiming a find only visited the first part.
  12. We like to crawl around under bridges and play in the creeks like we did as kids. It is nice to have an excuse to climb around in all of those kid places where we don't have to be adults!

  15. Does anyone know what is up with the cache map pages of the states? They no longer show a blue box with a white check to indicate caches found. At least they don't for us. We tried logging off and on several times with no results.
  16. If you are counting named month we have 56 found of 57 attempted for July, 2002. If you are counting a 30 day period we have 78 found of 81 attempted July 8, '02 to Aug 3, '02. This was on a trip from California thru Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and return thru Utah, Nevada, California. Stacy & Jerry
  17. We like to see how many people are watching the cache. If there is a high number it intrigues us as to why and we will usually seek it out. Stacy & Jerry
