  1. Jeep Wrangler, Explorist 500. They suit my current needs. I'm loyal to no one or nothing!
  2. There's a newbie in this area who logs: FTC, I assume it means found the cache. This seems superfluous as well.
  3. People are always going to do stupid things. Other people are always going to question their actions. Ahhhh, life is spicy ain't it?
  4. That's a fine looking case. Is that inmate craftsmanship as well?
  5. What's the deal with this meter? What about the question mark? Is my pic hosted by Image Shack or Images Hack? Thanks
  6. Renegade, how about some pics of dead McToys?
  7. OK Guys, it's in there, the problem was between the keyboard and the chair. Once I got a sat lock & zoomed in, everything looked fine, thanks.
  8. That's what I did, per the instructions and it doesn't work, maybe I have to actually be getting a signal to see the map.
  9. The original basemap is displayed, the map I uploaded isn't displayed.
  10. I'm almost there. I've successfully uploaded a mapsend topo map to my 500 and followed the instructions to activate the map (under preferences & active setup.) The map's filename is now in the field for the detail map, but it's not displaying on the unit. I'm going to futz around more, but input would be appreciated.
  11. The conversion manager will only look for imi files, I managed to generate an imi file with mapsend once I entered the serial number from the help screen.
  12. OK, I think I'm missing something. When I save a region from Mapsend Topo 3d, it's saved as an img file. If I rename it to imi & upload it to my 500, it tells me that I have an invalid map file and proceeds to lock up. Is there a way to get Mapsend to save as an imi file? I saw no mention in the instructions for the conversion program.
  13. Am I quoting correctly? KISS = Keep It Simple, Stupid
  14. Do you know if there's a way to select several .gpx files at once to load into this program? I didn't find any help in the documentation.
  15. I thought the quad helix was proprietary magellan stuff.
  16. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!, Oh Please, not a web site! Chrysler's going to go broke again.
  17. The Mapsend programs are clearly overpriced and overpatched for the Explorist models. Do you know of any alternative programs?
  18. Wow, I'm surprised at how many people mentioned brand names. You go Madison Avenue, the sheep are following.
  19. I just ordered an Explorist 500 anyway, perhaps the Sportrak was suffereing from the boomerang effect. Thanks.
  20. Does anyone know if the newer handheld units process a signal better than my 2 year old sportrak? Lately it has me running around in circles. I see the newer models have a buzzword: Truelock? It sounds like a load of crap to me, but perhaps you could share your experiences. Thanks
  21. My wife thinks that everyone on the internet is an axe murderer. Except for her. She's more the "smother with a pillow" type.
