  1. Danny, I finally found out what the problem was. The adapter cable is good, however, the software was looking to another USB device (memory card reader) and not looking at the COM7 port. After being on the phone with Garmin Tech support for over an hour - and not getting anywhere; I decided to start unpluging items. The only one I unplugged was the card reader and the problem was solved. I have down loaded several caches with no problems. Pass it on. Bill (aka 2BionicKnees)
  2. I too have Type II Diabeties, and 2 metal knees (thus the 2BionicKnees) I have no really good advise other then get a waist belt/pack and stock it with spare batteries, GPS unit, and your emergency supplies (always restock on your return to home) and always carry water or a soda. I find hard peppermints are good and of course the nasty (but enjoyable) candy bar are always a good emergency item. Take a cell phone and/or call someone before you hit the trail to give them your starting point etc. Best of luck and keep on caching.
  3. I am new to the Geocaching world and need some assistance. I have a Garmin eTrex Legned GPSr and cannont get any waypoints to download to the unit. I have had to put an adapter on the interface cord supplied with the unit (Serial plug to USB) and loaded the software that came with the adapter. I have downloaded the Garmin software and have attempted load waypoints to the unit.... No luck! Any pointers/suggestions and/or assistance will be greatly appreciated. 2BionicKnees
