  1. I don't care if it is a dry heat, 115° is too hot!!!
  2. You could split them in half. Have 1 half of the scouts hide a cache (or if there are lots of them, caches) and bring the coordinates back and post them. Then the other half could load the coordinates into their GPSr and find the cache(s). Then have them switch roles. You could hide their merit badges in the cache and they don't get the merit badge unless they find the cache.
  3. Either that or pay a neighbor kid to mow it for you!
  4. As far as Disney World is concerned, try Magic Kingdom and then click on ...all nearby caches to find nearby caches. For Daytona Beach, try Donut Park Resurrected and do the same.
  5. What do they say for the last time run?
  6. Here's a link to the Garmin manuals: Garmin Manuals
  7. Just like my mom used to nag me. What she nagged me about turns out to be good advice. So keep nagging!
  8. Put me down for 5 if there's still some left. Let me know and I'll PayPal the money to you.
  9. Put me down for 5. Let me know and I'll PayPal the money to you.
  10. Not all of us elderly (I'm 58) are afraid of change. I've got a cool GPSr (Garmin GPSMAP 60CS), PDA (Sony Clié), and I work with technology (I'm a DBA working on a IBM mainframe). So, there are some of us that enjoy change.
  11. Here's one I took while doing This Is The Place: It was a stormy day, but the sun broke through the clouds and reflected off the monument for a minute.
  12. I know here in Utah we have an individual (bunkerdave) who loves to bushwack so much that it's now called doing a bunkerdave.
  13. Here's a picture from the This Is The Place cache: I took this one a little before sunset and the sun was really reflecting off the white monument.
  14. I've sent the jpgs to bunkerdave. Just to let you know, usually you can right-click on a picture, select "Save Picture As...", and then save it to your computer.
  15. Are you still getting this error? Try reporting it to Groundspeak
  16. The Lowrance Globalmap 100 was introduced in about 1999. Here's what Joe Mehaffey and Jack Yeazel had to say about the accuracy: You can read the entire review here: Lowrance GlobalMap 100-GPS Receiver
  17. I'm going to have to check that out. I have a Ford and a Saturn (and formerly a Chevy S-10), and I can set my unit down between the seats of the Ford (the dash is curved and really sucks for geocaching, the unit slides around) and usually still keep a lock. My parents have two Buicks. I might have to borrow one as a test. I've got a Pontiac Montana and I have horrible reception, even with the GPSr sitting on the dashboard. I had to go out and buy an external antenna. Now it works great.
  18. Make sure that you hunt for 1/1 caches for a while until you get a feel for where caches are hidden.
  19. I've just sent you $23.00 through PayPal for 5 coins plus shipping. Thanks.
  20. Of course, that doesn't help with the accuracy of the individual that placed the cache.
  21. Check out GPS Test Station. In order to log a find, you have to post the number of satellites you're picking up and the distance and bearing to the point while you're over the disk. These aren't the coordinates, but it does tell you how far off your GPSr is from the accuratly measured disk.
  22. No container, but there is a disk in the ground so you know when you are exactly there. And you can place your GPSr right on the disk and see what it has to say for location and accuracy.
  23. If you're in, or near, Salt Lake City, you could go here GPS Test Station.
