  1. I have had a few preforms carried a little ways off by animals and then discarded with a few chew marks on them. It might have been the camo tape I used on it. Tried wiring them but it rust out in a few years. I have galvanized air craft cable I am now going to try. You could also use plastic tie wraps/cable ties to secure them. I am not sure what they call them where you are but the are the small plastic straps that you wrap around and then pass through itself and pull to tighten. Here they go by those two names and a few others. Also they come in a bunch of colors so you can try to cammo it a bit if you want but from speaking to people that install ones that are exposed to a lot of UV from the sun, the black ones last the longest.
  2. Got a full set of Ammonites from Tethys C today in antique silver. Beautiful.
  3. Ordered mine today. Two bronze and a silver. One of each to keep and a trader/traveller. Amazing colours on these.
  4. Thanks for all the replies. Kind of how I figured they were put together. I think I might start to cost it out. I'll contact one of the minters and see what we can do.
  5. Yeah this is a coin I am looking at as a personal coin. I am a miner and work 5000 feet underground. There are a lot of really nice minerals that have incredible colors that I think would look awesome in the capsules. If you have an idea for something like it give'er. The more coins the merrier. kayn_os
  6. Ok so I am hopefull that mousekakat or anyone that has done a suncatcher style coin can answer a question for me. How is the centre part held in place? Are the two coin halves pressed together or are they threaded together? I have an idea for a personal coin that would have a capsule in the middle with something in it. I work underground and there are some raw minerals that have amazing colours and I think it might make a cool coin if I put a small piece in a capsule in the centre of the coin. Hope somebody can answer the question. Thanks, kayn_os
  7. Looks super nice. One comment though, the Antique Bronze one looks like it is screen printed on the flag side. I'm sure it's just the photo but I was just wondering if it is 3-D like the others or not? I'll be in for a set no matter what. Looking forward to the sales on these ones.
  8. hope that this is 12 hours away from last post, not sure how to check Memphis Underground by Herbie Mann as in Memphi(s Un)derground kayn_os
  9. Walking on Sunshine- Katrina and the Waves
  10. I am just getting into collecting so I really have nothing to trade as of yet so I am looking to BUY a da Vinci coin set in any finish. I know it's a pretty steep wish but if there is anyone out there with an extra set or who wants to sell their own set let me know. Paypal payment right away.
  11. I guess it has been ten years that I have been using kayn_os for handles on different sites on the net that I join, maybe more. When I was a lot younger I used to be a graffiti writer and the name I went by was Cain. It was a fitting name for me, but that is not a story for a kid friendly forum. So when I started to frequent sites, forums and chat rooms I decided to use kayn instead as it had been one of the spellings I used to use. The OS comes from the crew of guys that I used to paint with. It had several meanings, the original one was Operation Subsonic, Over Suckas and a few others but for me the one that stuck was Old School as I was the oldest member of the group and had a more "Old Shool" approach and look to my pieces. The name has stuck ever since then so I went with what I always used when I joined. I had thoughts of changing it now that my kids are caching with me but it would most likely be changed to kayn+2. Thanks for the cointest, good luck to all who enter there great stories. kayn_os
  12. In the mail I got my "It's not all about the numbers" coin from winning the Sparticus06 "New Ink" cointest. Included was his personal pathtag as a nice surprise.
  13. I'd take one in every finish you are running. I like black nickle the most so if that's an option I'd take 2 of those as well.
  14. Is it just me or is there nothing in here for anyone else either? Nothing is showing up???
  15. Found this thread just in time. Wife and I are headed to Vegas in November to renew our vows for our 5 year anniversary and I want to get some caches in there as well. We're staying at the Venetian so I'll start there and work out from there as time permits. Unfurtunately we won't be renewing our vows at "A Special Memory" as we both want Elvis to renew them. Thank you, thank you very much...
  16. I really liked these when I was younger and love this coin now. I'll be in for one in each finish. Looking forward to the orders.
  17. Love this coin. I'll be in for one in each finish. Will be watching for the orders on it.
  18. Ok so since I just started this coin collecting hobby/turning into an obsession, I don't have a lot in the trade department. I am wondering if peoples trade list kind of double as for sale lists. I have had a few great members on here help me get started by selling me a few of there traders but without inventory to trade I am at a disadvantage when it comes to getting more. Any guidance would be appreciated.
  19. Fog is common during June, July and August. Thanks for the cointest!
  20. Ok so I have quite a few tattoos so I will do a quick list and then describe the one that I like the most. -On my right arm around my forearm is a tribal band -On my right arm around my bicep is a band a good friend and I designed together and both have, it's a mountain scene as we are both avid snowboarders. -I have a celtic knot band around my right ring finger -down my right side I have my last name in olde english letters -on each shoulder above the pec I have a Canadian Maple Leaf -down the back of my left calf I have the word "Unity" in olde english letters but not filled in -on my left shin I have a small tribal design that was my first tattoo -on my back I have an old skateboard logo which is an elephant. Now is the big one and the one I want to enter in the cointest: My whole left arm is a full sleeve all for my family and the 4 elements. It starts at the wrist with water. Spelled out in the water in negative space (think letters cut out of the water so skin shows through) is my daughters name, EmmaLee. Next it moves up into a pumpkin patch which is my little girls nickname so there is only one fully orange Punkin' in the patch and the rest are still green. Next moving up is Flames for the fire element, more water and then a whole Noahs Ark theme for my son Noah. It has Mount Arrarat with the fig tree for the Earth element, then a whole sunset spiral with clouds and the sun for the Air. Near my Elbow is a peanut that is still in the works but the outline is there for my step-daughter Kristina, as that was her nick groing up. All this leads up to the most cherished part. My mom passed away a few years ago and her Favourite flower was the Sunflower so I got a big yellow sunflower on the inside of my bicep. I was only able to handle 4 hours of tattooing on it the last session so I need the yellow filled in but the most incredible part of the flower: the tattoo artist added my moms ashes to the black ink so she is a part of me forever. She was my best friend and I miss her every day but it helps a lot since I got it done. I will take pictures of all of it and post them up tomorrow before the close of the cointest. Oh and I also have 2 gauge flesh tunnels in my ears. ***Can someone please help me post pics. I have tried everything and I can't get it to work.***
  21. Pretty much says it all. I am just starting to collect geocoins so if you have any for sale please either e-mail me through my profile or post up what you have here. 22. This summer my wife and I took our kids to the Calgary Stampede. We went out to Calgary for Stamped and also to have our godson baptised. My four year old little girl loved all the big animals like the horses and cows and my little guy who is 2 loved the smaller animals like piglets and especially the baby chicks. While I was out there I got to fulfill a TB mission which was to go to Stampede. I also got to take my 4 year old out for her first cache, she's now hooked, although she calls it "geoCATCHING". On our return from Calgary we took the kids to Marineland to see the dolpins and whales which they loved. Other than that I have been finishing a new deck I built to finish up the landscaping around the house.
