  1. I have had the All White background since the first week I had my unit and have no plans to use anything but.
  2. So far all my daytime use has been very adequate without the back-light.
  3. Thanks. Your second link took me to a page I had checked before so I looked again and this time found it. Should have looked closer before. I showed I had an update available of which is downloading now. Thanks Well after all that download time it keeps getting errors. Guess I will be making a phone call and ordering it on disk.

  5. I have only had 2008 for about a month. Where do you find the free download for 2009?
  6. I bought NT for the PC so that I can use it there as well. Bought a 2 gig card but so far I have not used it. I have CA and about 8 other western states along with 4 or 5 states in the area of OH which appeared to load just fine in the unit itself. So far I see no update issues with the maps in terms of loading speed.
  7. It appears they have! I re-submitted my .gpx and everything seems to be there, thanks for the suggestions. Yup working now. Site owner was away with family over the weekend when it was down having a life ... imagine that.
  8. Not running inroute here at all. I believe it is for using on a PC/Laptop when you have a GPS connected to it and you are navigating via your Laptop Screen.
  9. I bought the NT maps for my Colorado. It was my understanding that there were fewer map tiles per state than the non NT or the City Select that I used to use. Since I do not have the non NT I can't compare them to verify this but there are definitely far less tiles than my old City Select which made loading much of the Western US very easy. Still want to try and load the whole US and see if there is a performance issue or not.
  10. If you are a premium member you go to the PQ page for your Pocket Query and instead of selecting all types of caches put a check box in the ones you do want. By not checking the Wherigo you should get a list without them. I had to go edit some of my older PQs to eliminate the Wherigos. Since we do not have any Wherigo's in my area that I know of I can only assume this works.

  12. If you have Mapsource with City Navigator or Select and also have GSAK the following works great. 1. Set your route in Mapsource with two points as well as any via points you need. ( no need to do any point setting along route once you have it ) 2. Save the file with your route as the older file format ".MPS" 3. In GSAK go to SEARCH then down to FILTER. Once here go to the Arc/Poly Tab. Down on the left side select GET POINTS FROM FILE and select the MPS file you created in Mapsource. On the right hand side of the Arc/Poly tab there is a box for "Distance in miles". Tell it how far to filter on each side of your route and then hit "go" at the bottom. Now you have a list of caches along your route. Save it as a loc or gpx to your GPS.
  13. I have had mine about a month. It replaced my V which was taking longer and longer to find Sats. My Colorado 400 so far has been working flawlessly and battery issues seem to be no problem here so far with the Lithiums I use. As for the location error I have not experienced this problem yet and hope not to.
  14. Jeez, if they ever change things to add that I sure hope it is switchable. I like my screen as it is without the labels.
  15. I believe the map boundaries are far fewer on the Navigator NT vs the plain Navigator. From the number of map outlines you have it appears you have the Non-NT. The non-NT version appears to have a ton of map pages for CA as did my old City Select. City Navigator NT has only 3 maps for CA now. There is some info in this post that may help.
  16. I got GSAK to work. Good bye INATN stats!!! Oh wait I still have the stupid nag screens It is real easy and simple to get rid of the nag screen. By what pay for GSAK or hack the files? ummmmmm, pay the registration? da'horror
  17. I got GSAK to work. Good bye INATN stats!!! Oh wait I still have the stupid nag screens It is real easy and simple to get rid of the nag screen. Yeah, but some people want everything for free. leeches on society.

  19. I have had mine for several weeks now. Spent a good amount of time playing with it and getting used to it. At this point I have been out caching with the Colorado several times with no troubles at all. I would go with what others said and upgrade the firmware.
  20. I gave up on Walmart and ordered mine from GPSNow.com. Fast delivery and nice prices.
  21. So far I have not loaded more than 3 gpx files. These three contain together just under 2000 caches. for some reason there was one cache I wanted that did not make my Pocket query. I grabbed just that caches gpx from the cache page and loaded it. This was one of my 3 files on my unit. Two of the files were numbered file names as sent to my by my PQ. The third was by GC#. I still did not see the file which was by GC# so I deleted it, renamed the GC to an arbitrary number and sent it back the unit. Danged if I saw it. Not sure why it saw it as a number and not as a GC but it did. Other than that one small item my 400t has worked flawlessly. None of what I have read in other threads about the Colorado units has been a problem or issue for me so far other than the one GPX file oddity.
  22. After getting used to all the screens and using my 400t in the car for the past 2 weeks I got out today and found some caches. I used the full screen map today and had no issues and in fact I have not had any of the problems I have read so much about. The unit has been working flawlessly and batteries (lithium) have been performing well.
  23. My near 8 year old Garmin V recently started having trouble locking onto sats. Tried the remote antenna thinking it was the unit antenna but no change. Now it works some days and not others.
  24. Definitely the DVD. This allows you to use the map on the computer. Thanks. I had the same question. The DVD it will be for me.
