  1. i got it to work before, but now can't do it anymore. i have a magellan explorist 400, (no memory card) and use easy gps. i save all the files as one and the extension is .gpx. i try to send it to the gps and the extension changes to .gs, but i do not get all of the points i previously added. do i have to upload each individually, or can i keep it as one big file? help is always appreciated.
  2. Like I said, I couldn't make heads or tails of Magellan Manager, so instead, I tried GSAK. And it is wonderfully easier. And now everything is working. Thanks for the help.
  3. take what back? What do you mean?
  4. Probably. You need to convert the file, not just rename it. Have you tried the Magellan Geocache manager program that came with the unit? I've tried to use that program but can't make heads or tail or it. I'll try it again though.
  5. I tried changing the file name by just renaming the file from .loc to .gs Is it possible that this had anything to do with the problem?
  6. I would agree. The problem you are describing seems to be exactly the same with my house. I can't go anywhere in there and recieve a single satellite. The same with cellphones. No signal. But it's strange how you cannot recieve anything even when outside. I don't think you are doing anything wrongit's probably just the location.
  7. Congrats on getting married and for starting geocaching. I am also a newbie at this and don't really know what I'm doing so just to tell you, you are not alone any stupid questions, don't be afraid to ask. These people seem really nice and happy to help. Have fun.
  8. Please Help!! I've loaded files from the geocaching website onto my GPSr (Magellan eXplorist 400) and cannot open these files. The only ones I can open are the ones that I mark myself. I heard that I should go to Menu>Preferences>Active Setup>Geocaches>Select File, but I still cannot open anything. The file extension is .gs and I believe this is what it should be. Please help, I'm new and have no clue how to completely use the GPSr
