  1. im sorry if i offend anyone but this is the dumbest thing ive ever heard of. It changes nothing, the explanation is quite long, and all it does is explain what lat and long coordinates are, i hope the guy who wrote this doesnt think he is some type of genius who has come up with something new and radically life changing. besides if your ever talking to your friends or family about a position in your local area, only the last few digits would change. im in favour of keeping the system we have right now, even if used internationally to point a out a city, which i doubt that most people can visualize lat and lon coordinates to that detail, it would still require a gps to get down to the street level, so you might as well have the gps translate the adress into coord.
  2. yea i noticed that problem also, thats why i downgraded to 6.13.7, that and for the low refresh times.
  3. ive been using bluechart 2008 for a while now (unlocked region 2 - canada ) and ever since i upgraded my etrex legend blue to an etrex legend Hcx i've had an excess of space for maps. my question is whether when highlighting the map segments to download to my gps you can select either one huge section or there are multiple smaller segments within the larger one. when i do select the larger segment and then after select one of the smaller segments within the larger one, my memory for maps goes up. does this mean that the large segment that encompasses everything is missing some of the data that selecting the smaller segment would contain, or is there just a little bit of memory overhead for adding an additional segment within the larger one. basically i want to know if i have to use up a ton of my 2025 map segments on all the little map segments if instead the larger one contains all the data. this would allow me to put on more topo usa and canada segments which indecently do not overlap anywhere. this only seems to be an issue with the bluechart series.
  4. exactly. you use mapsource (current version 6.13.7 i think) to handle all you mapping products. from there you select which map data you want to display on the computer screen ( such as bluechart, topo, metroguide ....) from the the view drop-down menu. then simply highlight the map segments you want added to your gps ( selected map segments should appear on the left hand window) and upload it to your gps.
  5. yes you can have both on at the same time but you will have to reload both maps, not just add the metroguide map to the card. then just simply go into the setup map options on the gps and select which map you want to display.
  6. go to main menu -> setup->map->general-> then scroll down to detail and select most.
