  1. indeed, that was the problem. Thanks for your help. After a few years of caching it is obviously a pain in the ... having a team (Orti & Ecky) and a separate own account (Orti_)
  2. Hi On my GC homepage I can see that I found 2479 caches If I do a search "caches found by username": http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=Orti_&submit4=Find I only get 2421 caches, so here there are 58 caches missing ;-( If I log out I get 2479 with my "caches found by username" search !?! If I look at the maps (I am planning a trip to Dartmoor) e.g. I can't find the smileys for Alphabet Challenge G GC11Z0F Alphabet Challenge R GC11Z0F Alphabet Challenge H GC11YZR Alphabet Challenge P GC26DE6 Alphabet Challenge C GC133XG Alphabet Challenge D GC120W6 and they are also not on the "caches found by username" list. I checked also on the owners "caches hidden" page and can't find them there ? :-(
  3. nicely quoted out of the context ... I was talking about the things kids could pick up in the countryside. You might not visibly trod in antsh*t, but kids also tend to pick up things from the ground and stick their hands after that in the mouth .... and I think they are more at risk by glas or rusty tins (thrown away by unconsidered people) than by a "natural" product which dissolves with time. Oh yes, and please could you ask every cat owner to clean up after the cat. With a nice fence around no dog will enter your garden, but a cat always finds a way to your roses (I know this from my own experience).
  4. Dog waste can cause illness and disease including toxocariasis And kids have a habit of grabbing the underside of their boots when they get back in the car, then touching their faces, which can have pretty nasty consequences. in this case we should keep the kids at home in a nice clean (?) environment. There is enough sh*t around in the countryside form rabbits, foxes, deers, birds, ants and whatever animal and they don't have someone behind them to clean up with a plastic bag. urban area is something different and it should be cleaned up. Personally I have more problems with people (cacher or not) who leave their litter behind. Why can't they take their plastic, tin or glass bottles home? Why do they have to drop their candy wrapper or sandwich packing on the footpath? From my point of view thats a bigger nuisance resp. danger for the wildlife as a bit of "natural" dog sh*t.
  5. We replaced the cache camera and developed the pictures. Let us know if you want your name with your picture. Picture 11 and 12 were too bad to see something on them. Sorry. The cache page with the pictures: Holy Brook
  6. The TB is now on the way to the USA. Thanks to everyone who offered help to move him over there.
  7. Also an option, thanks. It's nothing decided yet (as I'm still in contact with other cachers) And also thanks to ValandJames for his offer (but this would have been a real problem to hand the TB over on time - without using Royal Mail )
  8. @SlytherinAlex Thanks for the offer, but I'm not able to get there as I'm in Germany on that day. @The Hokesters That sounds good. At the moment I have one other possibility (with a handover in Germany), if I can't get this sorted I will contact you.
  9. that would be fine too (he than might have a chance to see a bit more of the countryside ) ... let's see what happens (I've also posted a note in the German forum - I'm going to Hamburg and Frankfurt first week of February)
  10. The TB Courier Bear needs a lift home. Is there someone going to the US February / March ?
  11. Snoopy seems to be MIA. Does someone know "The Beast" ? Couldn't find the user in the GC database ....
  12. AOL9 is working fine with mozilla I don't use the M$ or AOL IE
  13. 22 days holiday caching in USA and Canada (25.9-16.10.2003). ~7000 miles driving; 58 found, 2 DNF and some where I managed to miss the starting point Also tried to find 1 in every state but missed 5 out of 21
  14. Hmmm, I checked my gallery and I also found some broken links. Surprisingly they are all to pictures on TB pages, so they might be doing some work in this area ....
  15. 13=Schroeder, the 4legged part of our caching team: Orti/Ecky/Schroeder
  16. hmmm, I thought it is just a game personally I enjoy walking around and solving puzzles to find a cache box. It is a nice way to see a lot of the countryside and find places I wouldn’t have known / visited without this little box hidden in the woods. Let them have the commercial things over there I think we don't need this. Let's have fun without this.
  17. I've never notice, but mine looks like that too. It's more than a year old and I've never seen that. The etrex is working fine. I also dropped it last week (~2m on a concrete floor) and it is still working. A very robust GPS
  18. Hmmm, found our first “Night Cache” by accident today . Took some time to find the first part for GCH7R3 and we really needed a torch to finish this one. Nice experience (but still not the type of cache we were looking for). Maybe we have to extend the search area, is there a active "Night Cache" in UK ????
  19. Quantum Leap Part 1 / Part 2 or "Up and Down Again", 3 very well planned and placed caches. "Up and Down Again" is maybe the more photogenic one but the Quantum leaps are really a challenge . You should read the logs for these caches.
  20. Yes, that's the archived Night Vision
  21. Thanks for the info about the Buckinghamshire caches. I checked them out, but they are not really what we are looking for. It's more the challenge to find the way to the cache with the help of a torch and reflective pins etc. (but if we can't find something around, we may as well go to Bucks and try one of these).
  22. Is there an active Night Cache in southern UK ? We were able to find 2 in the database but "Night Vision" is archived and "After Dark" isn't looking very promising (lot's of DNF)
