  1. Hello, I'm not able to upgrade to an Android phone just yet =(. In the mean time is there an app that I can use for the LG ENV3 for geocaching. I have the VZ Navigator but thats mostly for road navigation and not the woods. VZ Navigator doesn't allow you to manually enter coords =(. Anybody have a solution/work-a-round?? Thanks!

Hello, I know it may sound like a bit much....but how can I retrieve more than 500 caches using pocket queries? Thanks.
  3. What is the reasoning that they are no longer being accepted?... I think those types of caches add to the overall fun of the geocaching experience.
  4. How do I create a webcam cache? When I go to create a cache, I do not see type: webcam?? Thanks in advance, psyber7
  5. Sorry for the ignorance...don't know what WFYB means. Thanks!
  6. Would it be lame to put TFTLPC (Thanks for the Lamp Post Cache), in my log, of corresponding lamp post caches? -psyber7
  7. CS: That did it! I turned it back to normal mode & it locked on to sat #51 with an accuracy of 21 ft. outdoors. Thanks everyone! -psyber7
  8. Ah Ha, let me check/change that, I currently have the battery saver feature on. Thanks for the input! -psyber7 gratefulHIKE: Thanks for the input, too!
  9. Tlhutch: I checked again today and the highest sat i'm locking on to is #30. I live 40 minutes inland from boston, I beleive I read that there are WAAS towers placed on both coasts? I triple checked that WAAS IS enabled. Any ideas, on why I can't get a WAAS (#32 or higher) sat? PFF: thanks for the advice! Thanks! -psyber7
  10. it is enabled, i'll check tomorrow to see if i get a #32 or higher sat...i'll let you know
  11. Okay, here's the deal. I just walked outside and I was getting an avg. accuracy of 68 feet (receiving anywhere from 4 to 7 sat's, under cloud coverage) in which none of them are labeled higher than 27. I came back indoors and I am now receiving an accuracy of 24 feet with six sat's locked on (at this very moment) in which the highest satellite is labeled # 26 Does this mean that I am not getting a WAAS signal? Furthermore, why would I get better accuracy indoors than outdoors? Strange.... Thanks in advance, -psyber7
  12. Hello, Garmin states that with WAAS enabled the the accuracy of the GPSr should be within 3 meters (10 feet), I have yet to find this to be true. I think the most accurate I got was within 30 feet of accuracy as displayed on the unit. Has anyone else had accuracy issues with the 60CSx? Some times when I'm searching out a cache, it will tell me 20 feet in that direction then I take a step or two towards that direction and it switches direction and changes the distance to the waypoint. It acts as if there is some interfering object (electro-magnetic) nearby, by the way the compass needle revolves around the compass. I've tried this in different areas it's not that I'm trying this under High tension wires [] Are there any ways to improve accuracy? Thanks, -psyber7
  13. I'm confused...with this topic? Did you say that your Garmin 60CSx came with 3 Topo discs? The only thing I got with my new (but display model) was the waypoint manager disc. Was I supposed to have received these disc's with my unit? Thanks, -psyber7
  14. Just downloaded Google Earth with the Geocache KML file. , What an awesome utility....I'm so excited that I can scroll around earth and see all the geocaches that have been placed. Furthermore, it is a great utility to find locations that would make good hiding spots. How many people are using this system? TFGE -psyber7
  15. So I would most always load both of these using GSAK? How do I view the child waypoints? Thanks
  16. Hello, Can someone explain to me the difference between the two files that are generated from pocket queries? One is a #######.gpx, and the other is #######-wpts.gpx Thanks in advance, -psyber7
  17. Hello, as a newbie do any of you have any references to some good software to load on my Garmin 60CSx GPSr? Furthermore, how do most of you carry the additional notes about the cache when hunting (i.e. paper, or pda, etc)? I guess I'm looking for a listing of popular software and methods used, from fellow cachers. Thanks -psyber7
  18. I am new to the geocaching sport, but not with technology. Today I just purchased the Garmin 60Csx from Eastern Mountain Sports, and I am rather happy with the receiver after spending several hours out there caching. After a quick review of the 'Quick Start' guide and about a half hour fiddling around with the unit, I was on my way to downloading caches to the receiver and subsequently hunting them out. The unit performed flawlessly. Furthermore, EMS is selling them for $449 on sale from $499....but a wiser buy would be from walmart.com as I seen them advertised for a $100 less. I did not want to wait to have the unit shipped, and thankfully so. The unit I bought was a display model and the only thing wrong with it was the rubber lanyard hole was broken so the clerk gave me 20% off...totaling to $377. So I am happy about that. Anyways, I have read many good reviews on this model, and hence the decision to purchase it. Happy Hunting, -psyber7
