  1. my story was interesting, i was interested in this one video by a "kipkay" on how to turn a mimimag fashlight into a burning lazer (yeah xD) when it led me to his site, where i found this video: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/634724/treas...can_you_find_it that led me here and here i am! sure im only in ankle deep, but im still playin' the game! what started you in geocaching?
  2. i i've tried to allway take someone with me. my first one i technically took my dad with me, although he just dropped me off and i found it and walked home XD i got one of my friends interested on a second one, although we didn't find it.
  3. wel some people like em, i know if i had a puzzle cache near by i'd attempt it.
  4. this one may have been looked at before, and its a type of puzzle cache, but basivcally, part one will have an problem that has two answers, you get one of those, you get the path to one cache, get the other, and get a second cache instead of the first! tell me what you think
  5. i agree with ridgeway, i take some of my friends from school a long from time to time too, infact i got one interested in it by doing this. but if you're expecting a non micro or nano cache, i wouldn't suggest wearing a bright orange shirt saying "im looking for lost treasures" when replacing a cache ;3
  6. i just fed the coordinates through the benchmark page and nothing came u (except ones close to the spot) closest being 0.7 miles away.
  7. i think i found a benchmark when i was out Geocaching... im not certain, but it as a little round disk, it didn't say anything about geodisks or anything im not certain. but if i can get a camera out there soon I'll post a pic later on, i marked the coordinates if i were standing on it, anyway i could check if they match anything? coordinates: N40degrees 14.764' W083 degrees 22.332' if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. - note this was found in a sidewalk on the way to a park.
  8. yeah tomorrow i'll be trying to find 3 caches i wasn't able to find before i've used my GPS quite a bit, not yet on an actual cache find though. yeah i got to talking with my dad, and he says he has an old ammo box he'd be willing to give me for it
  9. i don't wanna do a micro, but the peaer jar idea is good the area i wanna have it though i may need to find something water tight. (paybe a pickle jar?)
  10. any tips or anything i should know about when using a GPS like this? i have figured out a good bit allready and tested it's abilities and sensitivity earlier so i know its 100% functional (took it with me when we went to see National Treasure Book of Secrets. (heh, yeah XD) i would like to place a cache in town aswell pretty soon, but i don't have the cash for a cache box, so what would make a good makeshift cache box? i've hears tupperware and ammo cans are possibly the best, but i don't think i can spare any of my own. any suggestions of anything else? and besides a log and a pencil, what else should i load in my cache? ... i bet most of my questions can be awnsered in the FAQs, but i would like anyone else's opinion if they'd be so kind ^ ^.
  11. indeed.. that would be him! thanks, might i ask how you found him?
  12. im trying to find my friend's cacher name online "Omega alucard hellsing" or something to that effect, but i don't know how. the best thing i tried was seeing if they had a forum profile set up. can anyone help?
  13. okay it looks all good then! if something's wrong im certain i'll get blasted at, then i'll fix the issue and be good to go ^ ^
  14. I personally love to draw and make beautiful pictures, i have an art profile on Deviant art aswell, where billions of other artists like me post stuff and that, and we have a special feature where we can add pictures to our journal entries, i figgered i'd make a stamp just for Geocaching! http://sabre-night.deviantart.com/art/I-SU...ACHING-69832427 I'll put logo rights over of course, but i don't mean to gain credit i just wanna spread the news of geocaching! ^ ^ I used the logo off the main page by the way.
  15. yeah, sounds good. i think i have... SOOOMETHING like that >D its a little big and heavy.. but im certain no one's gonna take it for fun stuffs, you know what goes on the inside of an alternator, or a starter motor? well i have an armeture from one, its weighty, but it'd be perfect for something like that XD
  16. heheheh.. mission : ROUGH UP HIS JOURNEY TO ANTARTICA! do as much damage to him as possible before he's left in the ice! heh
  17. sounds good, i'll scratch mirage off my list, i don't have the nerve to drill a hole in em... even though i wouldn't mind giving him up. maybe i'll put him in my first cache or something just as an FTF prize :3 as for the motors and key, i don't know if drilling a hole or doing anything to it would make key collectors not want it they'd just suspect the wear of it to be apart of its history.. so i may cross that off... the motors.. are HARD to drill through.. and have this funny thing of not working after you manage it... (knowing this, by sawing one open to see how it works) i do have a backup option... i have this little metal thingy, it came off a powersource of a computer (it covered the fan area) that i could use...
  18. i just bought and now waiting on my tags to arrive, im curiously poking through my stuff to see what would make an interesting travel bug... heres some ideas you can work with to help me come up with one! (if you'd be so kind!) i currently have 4 ideas: this rusty old key i found floating about outside once.. pretty certain it dosen't go to anything, i've looked. this futuristic space shuttle thing (its about the size of a quarter ) a pocket motor (about the size of a nickel, is fun when you have a 9 volt to play with) Mirage- Mini transformers figure, he dosen't transform either ) any other ideas, just shout em out! i had thought about using one of my flash drives (usb jump drive) and having a mission with that, but moisture would kill the poor thing im certain, then theres risks with meddlers being "funny" and loading a virus on it and replacing it >_> )
  19. so what was the very first one? is it even in the archives?
  20. i was wondering if there are some of the very first geocaches still out there, and where are they?
