Ahh, yep, thanks for the link! I performed a search before making my post, but came up empty on that, which surprised me since it seemed like such an obvious feature to have. It's been 5 months since the idea was broached in the thread you linked to, and it appears that it had been suggested even prior to that at as well. Wonder if this will ever be implemented ...

I live in California and my parents back in Illinois just started geocaching recently. Although we keep up to date about our latest finds via phone, I think it would be great to have Geocaching.com send me notifications about Mom & Dad's latest adventures! To do this, the site could offer the ability to "watch this player", just as you can currently watch caches, travel bugs, etc. Whenever that player made a log entry, you would receive an email notification with that entry. To make it legit, when you add a player to your watchlist, the site would send an email to that player to let them know that you have added them to your watchlist. The "watch this player" link could live on a player's profile page, just as a "watch this cache" link currently lives on a cache's page. The feature would really engender a family and friends aspect to Geocaching and would be a fantastic addition. Thoughts?
