  1. What is the best firmware version to use? 2.50 ?
  2. Without "lock on road" it really sucks in the city. Almost always I am out of position. The problem is that my position on the screen is far away from the real one, it doesn't matter how I look at the triangle.
  3. What do you mean by battery saver mode? I can only find in System Setup GPS = Normal. It has two more options GPS off and Demo mode. Thanks
  4. Thanks for your tips I will try to set Lock-On-Road to off. Very nice program I didn't know about that I will "upgrade" metroguide now Do you think I have to enable waas/enos as well?
  5. I am a happy new owner of Vista HCx but.. I have a problem using metroguide with vista HCx. I am using it with my bicycle and my position on the roads seems to be wrong on the map, it shows me about 30+ meters behind the actual position. If I move very slow my position is a bit better. Is there any option that can help me? Thanks
  6. Thanks for all the information. Nice photo I'm 100% sure I am going for vista hcx
  7. Thanks, compass is nice but as you said too much to pay 50 euro for that only. I was afraid that the altimeter is not that good. If it's quite accurate then I will buy the vista. I was afraid that altimeter was not much better than gps cordinates to calculate elevation. I am leaning towards vista then
  8. Hi, I am about to buy a gps device and I need to decide between Vista Hcx vs Legend Hcx . Is the altimeter any good or really worthless? I read some bad comments about altimeter ( example: http://regex.info/blog/2006-04-16/179 ). Anyway can you use just the gps to calculate the elevation (even if is not that accurate) instead of buying one with altimeter ? The price between them in my country is 50 euro so I would like to save them if altimeter is not worth. I will use the gps device mostly for my bicycle. Thanks for your time
  9. Thanks for your advice, very useful information I think the HCx series is the right gps for me
  10. Thanks for your answer, but I also wonder in a city if it's going to work also. I am afraid of high buildings. PS: anyway thanks I think only HC* series will work for me, the older gps receivers will have problems
  11. Hello I would like to ask about how sensitive is the GPS of Garmin Venture CX. I know there are better device HCx with higher sensitivity but I want to use the gps only for cycling and I can find Venture Cx very cheap. Do you think I will have problems losing the signal in a town with high buldings ? Thanks
