  1. That works both ways. My father was a State Trooper and they had to maintain records on all the radars to make sure this didn't come back at them. This rule went into affect after losing a few cases this way. Local cops may not be as up to date on their equipment. Make sure to ask for the serial # of the radar and the maintenance records before going to court. If they don't have good records you may get off easy.
  2. missing is just like any other location. if the bug shows up again it can be grabbed or retrieved and moved on like normal.
  3. Don't blame the bomb squad. Blame the IDIOT that reported a suspicious package to the police. Gawd, we have gotten so worried about everything in this country that we don't even live any more. Common sense is long gone it seems.
  4. I've seen a few in VA red and green, most Jeep TB's don't get "officially" hoarded, they just seem to disappear in a cache at some point in their lives.
  5. Weird! I just posted this in another thread before seeing this one. Not an original. I got this from an old fishermans poem and replaced fisherman with geocacher. so far both have fit me at one time or another in my life. WHAT I AM I am a Geocacher, for life. I will always be a Geocacher. It is not something I do, it is who I am. Geocaching is not an escape. It is where I belong, where I am supposed to be. It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. It is a passage my father showed me, and that I will show others. When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will cache together.

  7. Or a Delorme PN-40 for about $300 less (when you include map cost). I was thinking the same thing but i want to add a digital camera to my PN-40 for geo-tagging photos so the 550T fits my list. too bad I already have a PN-40 and PN-20 with no upgrades in the near future (unless DeLorme wows me again with a camera!)
  8. mine are fine too. It's my understanding that there is some sort of sampling of caches to find recent finders and then update their stats. I nkow I have found caches and my stats never go up until I go out and find some more caches. Newer caches never seem to trigger the stat to increase, at least not right away.
  9. found a cache once in a "The Onion" newspaper box. the cache was called "Bad Breath"
  10. we have a KJcachers stamp that we use on all logs that will fit. Letterboxes included.
  11. See post 29 I guess I should have put a few of these behind my post! Seriously, I try to avoid detection but I won't lose sleep over it if an LPC gets muggled right behind me. I did have an ammo can cache get muggled on me that I regretted, The land owner came up on me over a hill in the woods as we were walking off his property and must have checked on what we were doing. Cache probably shouldn't have been there anyway but I still felt guilty about gving up it's location. had TB's in it too.
  12. just go grab it and sign the log. hopefully it will get muggled and archived to save fellow cachers from having to deal with it.
  13. may be out that way in a few weeks. Let me know if you want to take a look if nobody else gets there first.
  14. there is a heart shaped geocache pattern set up somewhere also.
  15. now that's funny! did you go back and get it?
  16. thanks for the answers! the virtual was placed in 2003 and the traditional in 2007 with a common theme for both of them. I will be logging my finds tonight when I can get the pic uploaded for the virtual.
  17. I found 2 caches today at the exact same location. I haven't logged them yet so don't bother checking my profile to see which ones. I am just curious how this happened. 1 is a virtual and the other a traditional. Was there a time long ago when the 528 foot rule didn't apply?
  18. yep, log a needs archiving if it's not a viable container any more. After it get's archived replace the container with your own and start a new cache. Either that or you could just unofficially adopt the cache and take care of it on your own.
  19. make sure you have the latest version of GSAK and FindStatGen also.
  20. I use the mygeocachingprofile.com to get a copy of the DeLorme Map and then I copy that to Photobucket.com. Then on GSAK I run the findstatgen and insert a link to the map in the notes. Easy, huh! ?
  21. sometimes the spot you want just won't support a good quality hide. don't just put anything anywhere because you just have to have a cache there.
  22. What? We won't be able to see you sitting on the stage at Geowoodstock VIII during the "Ask A Reviewer" segment? Thanks for all your hard work and welcome to the 2 "newbies" LOL
  23. walking away from this sillyness.
