  1. On the Explorer menu bar click"Tools", "Manage Add-ons", highlight "DeLorme Send To GPS", click "Enable" and then "Close". Send away. Smile. Louk.
  2. I have a DeLorme PN-20 and a new PN-40. Add a space pen and a tattered receipt and I'm ready to roll!
  3. I'm in central Jersey and we have a good number of regular hunters and hiders. FTF's are generally performed in hours. We have a ton of small parks in the state and they're generating new caches all the time. ...and many of us have PA right next door too. We don't generally have to travel very far at all to access a goodly number of hides, so gas prices aren't much of an issue, I'd think. Doesn't hurt that Jersey's got about the lowest fuel prices in the nation (about the only thing cheaper!) The S. Jersey Pine Barrens in particular seem to have attracted a nice hard-core group who actively hunt, hide, maintain and 4 wheel around the woods. I've met several cachers who've been great to talk to and I'm looking forward to attending an upcomong Flash Mob get together. All my electronic communication has been great too, except for a single snarky "expert" who had a hard time letting go. We're very lucky.
  4. Soon-to-be former gov't aircraft maintainer...weapons load/release, sheetmetal fabricator, survival equipment maintainer and most recently the structural repair shop chief. F-15's, F-4D & E's, KC-135E & R's. 27 years and it'll be over in the next month or so. Long strange trip. Looks as if the next career description goes something like: a geo-caching canoeist specializing in steelhead and fluke fishing, happily touring on the H-D collecting fossils. I'm ~really~ hoping that gainful employment will not be neccesary. Looks good so far...
  5. I had my hip replaced on 15 Dec. '06. It is without a doubt the best gift I've ever given myself. No running or jumping ever again, but caching has been just perfect for me. Plenty of walking through different terrain (now PAINLESS!) and being able to concentrate on the scenery, flora, fauna, sounds and smells instead of worrying about how much farther it might be, can I get down this hill and still get back up, blah, blah blah...I'm sure you can add your own list of distracting worries and irritations. Press forward, get a great surgeon, follow the instructions and restrictions to the letter and anticipate that your life will be all yours once again. ...unless you were a pro basketball player or volleyball olympian!
  6. It's odd that they prosecuted someone for using a signal that was provided for the public to use. All he had to say was that he was 'about' to be a customer.. What's really odd is that it took them days to figure out that there was any law being broken at all and THEN they sent out a warrant. Not a whole lot of judgement going on there AFAIC. Kinda underscores the whole concept of Name, Rank, Serial Number when talking with the police.
