  1. I have been looking into the 530HCx for a while, and I think now I might buy it... I own a rino 120 which has been great to me. and I bet I'd love the 530HCx even more. Not just for Geocaching but for my backpacking trips as well... Nothing beats having 2 of these units where you and your partner can break apart and look for different camping sites while keeping in contact.
  2. Well, I'm just looking for some like minded people to do some caching and possible backpacking. I'm an easy going guy and if you want to check out my webpage you can at www.madhatt.com Hope you hear from you soon
  3. Ok, the pictures are up from this weekends backpacking trip. Here's some info for ya. We started at 10,000 ft at the Crags Campground and hiked a total of about 4.5 miles to the summit, which is at 14,110 ft. First Night -- we got to the trail head at about 11pm and only hiked about 1/2 mile to our first campsite, nice little place beside a river Second Night -- we decided to make it to a nice little set of boulders I knew of at 12,000 ft. We decided to wait to fill up on water until we got to the campsite, and luckly for us, there was a large snow bank "10 ft thick" about 1/3 mile away that had a nice little melt stream leading from it. Here's some pictures. Full album is at http://www.madhatt.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=32 Campsite -- 2nd night The Cog Railroad -- www.cograilway.co Me at the top
  4. for those of you who are outdoor fans, this is my plan for the weekend. A buddy and me are hiking Pikes peak this weekend. it's about a 10 mile hike starting at about 9,000 feet and ending at 14,110 feet. We plan on camping right above treeline at about 11,000 feet at the really cool rock out cropping. For those of you who are unfamilar with Pikes Peak, here is a webpage that might inform you somewhat. http://14ers.com/photos/PikesPeak/p_pikespeak.html -- The official 14ers.com page http://www.pikespeakcolorado.com/ -- official site http://www.cograilway.com/ -- cog railroad that takes visitors to the top of the mountain. Don't be fooled, Pikes Peak rises above 8,000 feet above the plains, it's a hard hike Below is a live webcam image of the mountain Here is a view from the backside "west" of the mountain And here is the link to the 360 view cameras on top of Pikes Peak http://www.springsgov.com/units/pikespeak/ Pikes Peak is America's Most popular mountain for those of you who don't know, and I live at the base of it. YAY COLORADO!! it's sure to be a hell of a time, and of course, I'll be taking pictures and uploading them to my photo gallery http://www.madhatt.com/gallery/

  12. My wishes of who I hang out with are my own, Duc996 kinda turned things into what there not.Don't get mad at me for my feelings. I never once attacked the fact that you die for my beliefs. I did not imagine that such a small thing would turn into something that's effecting this game. I have deep respect for the military, and thing that duc996's hidden caches look pretty difficult. Because of this I have removed the statement from my website and hope that who ever has been affended can get over it. Lighten up! this is just a game [This message was edited by Andy in Colorado on July 17, 2003 at 05:34 PM.]
