My GPS must be crazy cuz it seems like no one else shares my woes My firmware is up to date. The only thing I can figure is that my computer gets confused at some point and identifies the GPS as a mouse or some other human interface causing the dancing cursor. It is a headscratcher.........

I recently started to use my Magellan Sportrak Map in conjunction with my laptop for navigation on long trips, but am experiencing difficulties. After accessing the GPS Log and turning NMEA on, Mapsend appears to be working fine. Usually after about five minutes the program will crash and my mouse cursor will start dancing all around the screen. I originally thought this was initiated by my screensaver so I disabled it temporarily. Now instead of a dancing cursor my whole machine shuts down due to a "system dump???". I have tried it on another laptop and the same scenario occurs. If anyone has experienced anything remotely like this I would appreciate the input. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I updated the firmware and so far no problems at all. I also noticed an upgrade in speed in which satellites were acquired. Hopefully that fixes the problem for good.

I recently bought a Spor Trak Map and have been pleased with it for the most part. About a week ago however it developed a gliche that right after it acquired the third satellite the satellites depicted on the satellite acquisition screen would disappear and a fix would never be established. I've tried resetting, but that is only a temporary fix and the problem soon presents itself again. Any help is greatly appreciated.
