  1. quote:Originally posted by btouch: Actually, I just submitted an article to our local paper. Hopefully, that will generate some interest around here. All the caches you see on my map (except the two in the bottom corner) were placed by me and I have four more ammo boxes I'm getting ready to place. The only problem is that its not much fun hunting your own hides unless of course you're one of those people who can't find their car in the Wal-Mart parking lot! I am in the same boat as btouch...actually we are in the same area. So no need to display another "empty" map. One of the caches in touch's map is one of mine. This area is full of great hiding places. Good to hear about the newspaper article. If it goes to press, sent me a copy so it can be reprinted in the Onion City. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by btouch: I need more geocachers in my area! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMEN! 3. Happy Birthday CONNER!!!! Time flies when you are having FUN... We don't have a offspring to cache with. Unless you consider our 3 year old Yorkshire Terrier! AND, Where is Conner's GPSr? Kinda like a MOTHERSHIP! Right? Should there be a distance restriction on it? Unlike Spyder's (in Chicago), we are cache-less around here. Say a one county radius from the Mother Cache. And BTW, GO BRAVES...Series tied 1-1...couldn't resist and wouldn't (didn't) go there after the 1st game! 9. quote:Originally posted by BrianSnat: Hardly. There are 228 caches within 20 miles of my house and 2,048 within 100 miles. Lucky! There is ONE (not counting my own) within 20 miles of my home. And it is a multi that takes you 26 miles further away! 12 physical caches total in a 2965 square mile area, (4 mine). There are only 3 or 4 active cachers in this area. The next closest unfound cache to me is 48.9 miles, via crow. No wonder I have resorted to Reversing and Benching! Bob ~ Early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese... 10. Gallant downloads the cords to the cache, prints the Cache page and reads the previous post and carries paper towels to remove the water from the cache container mentioned by previous finder. Searches for over an hour for the well hidden cache, decrypts the clue in the field. He places a new log book in the cache to replace the moldy, mildew insfested log. Gallant logs his find on GC and plays a game of catch with his son. Goofus writes down the cords on the back of his hand (off one digit in the Minutes field), and heads off into the unknown. After looking for 3 minutes, gives up and flames the cache hider for a lousy cache. Take $5 from his son's piggy bank to cover his wasted gasoline. 15. "Scotty, we need more power!" in your best Irish brogue "But capin, I'm givin' ya all she's got" For me the best power food is the 3 square meals and leave off the booster fuel. But in a low energy situation, dried fruit is an easy carry and natural solution. And with all the food wrappers…CITO goes without saying…wait, I just said it!!
