Well, perhaps I spoke too soon. The next time I tried to auto connect, the error message: "Trying to connect to serial port COM 3" came up. The Autodetect under communications Options is set for COM Port 1, but no matter what I try, the auto detect reverts to COM 3. Any suggestions? Paul

After about giving up on ever linking my home system (Dell Dimension) to my Garmin (GPSmap 76S) I came across your fix. BINGO! Worked first time. This will now allow me to upload my tracks and waypoints, and download new Geocache Sites. Thank you so much! If you're ever down in South Texas, look us up!
