  1. Thanks, Chae, I love it. Wished I had the resources to fly over for an event to kick it off. ;)

One point for the detractor though, check with any naturist/nudist group and you will see that social nudity is a family friendly activity and that children are appreciated and well cared for. Children make natural nudists. But I pun.

To think otherwise ignores the 200 million years of evolution of the species. We've only been constrained by clothing for the past 5000 years, an extremely recent occurrence.

  2. It's only polite to email them first as I've found that some who are new to caching accidentally give the whole game away "it was such a hoot to find we came all the way back to the car park to that weird looking hollow tree - see our picture" sort of thing. However, that said, sounds like the final stage needs a little tweaking.

Came accross some cachers the other day that always try to find the cache not only sand gps but also sans compass and map. They had managed to find over 25 caches using this method including three multis and some puzzle caches too. I couldn't believe it at first but they showed me the hidden verbal clues that litter most cache descritptions (without even decrypting the hint). I've tried it and it works.

Was chuffed to bits that we were the first to defeat their cunning plan. We have also started to back engineer suttle anti hints in case there are other "naked cachers" out there. That's naked as in chef/gardener, of course they're not nude that would be silly!

What's so silly about that?

  3. Ever since the bookmark list got split to 10 per page the navigation is totaly screwed up. I'm using Firefox. It usually works but sometimes, when I navigage using the next and prev, I still get only the first 10 bookmarks, although the navbar so the page changing. When I chage to 50 per page, sometimes it still only shows the first 10 bookmarks - but the number of pages show in the still non-functioning navigation bar has changed appropriately. I haven't detected what causes this behavior.

    Ditto with Mozilla 1.7.12.

  4. Nothing yet ... sorry to disappoint.

    I will keep everyone posted.

Also doing a piece for an adult magazine ... How do I contact the nude cacher?

What do you mean by adult magazine? Nudity is not the same thing as adult entertainment and LARC is a family oriented nudist club.

  5. Cache detail pages all give me the error "The type initializer for "Groundspeak.Web.CustomWpt.Geocache" threw an exception." and I get this page when I try to go to "Hide & Seek a Cache":

  6. Server Application Unavailable

The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

Did it fail all together? I've been terrably disappointed with Microsoft software through the years and have personally preferred Linux and other higher quality stuff that wasn't written as if it was for toy applications. I always wonder if that isn't the main problem at gc.com?

Thanks for the site and the work supporting and creating the geocaching activity, Jeremy.

  7. I printed a bunch of cache pdf files for the Bellingham Cache Machine and have a feature request. Only the first page has identification headers on it, so the second and subsequent pages can't be identified if the pages get out of order. This is important when the drivers for an unnamed Microsoft operating system garbage up a page and one has to go back and reprint some of them. Having at least a small header with the waypoint would be very nice, even when printed two-sided with only two pages. The new layouts are great!

  8. Can we have the bcm_route.est file? It would be neat to have a Google Earth file with the route and then play the automated tour zoom. I don't know how to create it, but I was thinking that the maps would be fun to play with. :)

  9. I shifted to a gmail account to avoid periodically having this problem. I use the pop server to automatically download them to Mozilla Thunderbird and my local drive. Google gmail also keeps an archive version of the pocket query in the gmail.com web access archive which can be used as backup if I were to have a problem on my local system.

  10. At the bottom of the Groundspeak Forums page upon entering it appears to give a count. I've been watching this number for two months and it never changes. Is there a bug here that nobody ever notices or am I missing something? I haven't paid attention to the other information, so I don't know if it has the same story.
