  1. Thank you for the explanation. I deleted the coin information from the posts. Thanks for letting me know about that too. So much to learn, so much to learn.
  2. I am not sure it is a swag because it is a memorial coin. can you explain to me what swag is anyway? Sorry, still trying to catch on the the geo lingo.
  3. Can someone help me? I am really new and found my first geocoin over the weekend; however, the coin I picked up is not activated. If I try to activate it, it thinks I am the owner. What do I do?

  5. I am in the process of having coins made, but I dont see why you couldnt participate. You should. I dont see anything wrong with it.

  8. That is hysterical. Thanks for the laugh. I am glad we got to the bottom of the mystery. LOL I am glad the little furry guy didn't take it away completely.
  9. I was pointed in the direction to download GSAK to get the waypoints of locations to find caches. I have already downloaded my waypoints to my garmin, now my question is, I have a PDA (Palm Pilot - Old school one). Is there a way to get the information such as notes, etc with ease. At this time what I am doing is getting the information from each cache on geocaching and copying it to word, then turning around and saving it to a file, then downloading it to documents to go, which is a program that came with the palm pilot, and then syncing it up to my palm. There has got to be an easier way. Can someone let me know if there is. I will be forever great full. TIA
  10. Good question. I am new and was wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking, and thanks for answering the question.
  11. I am there with you. I am new as well and trying to figure things out. I have been trying to attend as many local caching groups in the area as I can. Although I have only been to a couple of events, I have learned tons from them. I am really hoping, however, to find people my age to cache with in my area.
  12. I am VERY new at geocaching and have had a blast so far with my finds. I think its somewhere around 15 now. Anyhow, I wanted to know if there is someone out there who would custom make a coin to signify me. Not really sure where to look. Thank you for taking the time to read my thread and for your reply.
  13. I have a palm pilot (I know old), but would that work for the PDA?
  14. gotchya, thank you so much. when I download from the geo site to my gps once I purchase it, what kind of info will it download? Everything, or just just basics. I am trying to figure out if it is worth downloading or if I should print out the information? I would like to have as much information about the cache as possible when I go out.
  15. Hi all ~ I am very new to geocaching. I have found (11) caches so far in the last 2 weeks since I started. My question is............The cable that the gps came with does not fit into my computer or any of the 4 other computers I have tried. It came with a 9 pin female cable that hooks to the gps. The only port that I see on all the computers I have looked at are 9 pin males, but that is for the monitor. Is there a way of hooking up this cable to a computer? Am I able to download the notes and hints onto my gps if I do somehow find a way to get the cable to fit into the port? What will the download from the "Send to GPS" give me? Hope this all makes sense. TIA for your help!
