Ran into this for the first time yesterday. While reading map and gps I noticed little tiny ticks falling onto the map and gps screen.... we moved on quickly. These little predators were pin head size or smaller.

I've chosen to leave one or two of these: Shark Teeth I find them on the beaches around Venice FL. They can make great necklaces.

I first heard about it on a Jeep related bbs. Seemed like a great way to learn about my GPS. I wish I had more spare time to find cache.

When people approach you while you're looking for cache, what do you do? Do you speak into your "cell phone", walk away, introduce yourself, make gaseous noises or other? I hunted two caches on Sunday. During the first hunt I was approached by someone wearing a tshirt that had the geocache.com logo on it. Ziggy and crew introduced themselves, glad they did. Always like meeting nice people. During the second hunt we passed by a family on a trail and didn't think much of it. When we got closer to the cache, we saw them again and they introduced themselves. Team rattlehead and made it a two team search. Again, I'm glad they introduced themselves. I'm a systems technology solutions manager and Rose is house painter/bartender.

I'm up for anything in the gunx or the catskills. I live just five minutes from either Mohonk or Minnewaska and am there on most good weekends. I'm still new to geocaching, but a seasoned hiker. My girlfriend and I regularly do some 8-12 mile hikes that have over 3k of elevation changes in them. My purpose in getting a gps was to map our favorite hikes for others to use. We avoid carriage ways and we both suffer from asphalt aversion syndrome

Just started learning about our Garmin 76s, using geocaching to help teach me. Started our first search for a cache on Saturday. We were within sixty feet or less of our first cache and became disusted with the trash around us. Ended up forgetting about the cache and packing out over 60 lbs of trash, including broken glass. We'll go back and find that cache soon though
