If they logged your cache they had the opportunity to drop it in on GC.com, in this situation I think you would justifed in retrieving the trackable number from the item, grabbing it from the current location, then write a note and place it correctly in the cache. You could then, leave it there or grab it from the cache again to move it on. At least that would give the owner a reasonably accurate mileage and route for his trackable.

A very thorough answer there.
I was only really looking for copper and tin; although as mentioned lots of other metals can be added to the alloy to modify its properties, so a gold DING for you there
-
Apologies to Geoff, look forward to seeing him again new year.
Sticking with the Olympic theme. Which metals are used to make the alloy bronze?

They were there mascots used at the 2012 Geolympix mega event in Oxford, organised by the originator of this post, SimplyPaul. No, hang on a minute, I think it was that much smaller gathering in London, in the same year with a similar name - The Summer Olympics.

I do like the idea of a changeable symbol for mystery caches. I know the subject has been around for a while, and discussed and dismissed. I had not contributed as I did not have any great ideas - other than changing the colour of the symbol.
However if the icon could be replaced with a pencil, as an indicator that you have the correct answer, or that you have successful qualified for a challenge cache. Would make planning routes easier (if the icon is moved to the corrected location) So a great idea - but how easy it would be to implement might be a different matter altogether.

I have an Oregon 550, with the in-built camera. I find it prefect for taking photographs to upload to GC.com. The quality is good enough for online viewing on the website. If I wanted pictures for the family album, or to hang on the wall i would denifitely stick to the DLSR.
I have not looked at it particularly, but I believe the website Pocketlenses gives some good tips on getting the most out of this sort of camera

Could it be the star of the 'chick-flick' by the creators of Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run?

Lets try somewhere a bit obscure - I reckon Bhutan - Perhaps a state of happiness leads to a low rate of crime?

Oh my, it's my grandson's favourite: "In the Night Garden"
Ding, Absolutely correct.
Over to you.
Isn't that a pip?

Thank you.
On what television show would Iggle Piggle travel on the Ninky-nonk?

I have run out of fingers and toes. So it must be more than twenty.
I will have a guess of 21600

I think that was 'The Village People'
Just in case that answer wasn't ironic, I googled to check and AFAICT, The Village People didn't get going until five years after Machine Head was released and have not released an album by that name.
Clue: The band I seek are the same genre (i.e. hard rock/heavy metal) as Uriah Heep.
It's a shame they didn't. I think it would have been a classic....

Isn't there a geocacher who has placed a cache both in space on the ISS, and in the deepest bits of the ocean too. I think he goes by the name Lord British. Afraid I do not know how to enter a hyperlink to him on an iPad

Thanks Speaker-corner for the ding
I guess that Brooklands was a Grand Prix circuit in the pre-F1 era, so it could or could not be counted.
For a bit of a change of subject matter:
How many men have walked on the moon? And bonus points for any that you can name.

I can come up with five:
Brooklands, Aintree, Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donnington
I believe all of these have hosted grand prix, with Donnington being the European race rather than the British but it is still in the UK. Classic race won by the great Ayrton Senna.
Might have missed one....

It's a bit of a tie-break with Pajoholic and speakers corner. Both 0.02 out. Correct answer is 0.78 sqr mile or 2.02 sqr km.
So I know technically one is slightly closer, but for a bit of fun it is a DOUBLE DING, and the winner is 'fastest finger first' so whoever gets the next question in first wins.
-
You are all over estimating the area, so less than one square mile.
Closest one tomorrow night wins.

I think this thread is dying, and I am going to try and give a kiss of life, with a question that hopefully some one will know the answer to:
What happened on 21st October 2015?
