  1. So I disabled all maps but My Trails, they are there. So that's good. Shows the pacific crest trail behind the house. I guess what I'm considering as trails are actually roads, technically. So I still need to find a map that shows the first service and blm trail markings
  2. Thanks myotis, I figured they were trails because they are marked as forest service roads/with trail markings(??). I'm not getting any thin red lines, anywhere, when My Trails is enabled. Maybe I'm just not looking in a area that is covered?
  3. N 34*24.668, W 118*12.035 This particular coordinate is on a trail real close to my house. It's called "Moody Truck Trl" on My Trails shown on my GPS. On google & the forest service maps it's called "Forest Svc. Rd. 4N33". These are especially helpful indicators because the trails are marked in various places with these indicators. Another; N 35*31.368, W 118*01.160 This coordinate is a favorite riding area where the trails are all marked, I'm guessing by the BLM. These coordinates are the intersection of "SC065", LA Aquaduct & Horse Canyon. The SC065 only shows as Horse Canyon Rd. Those are just a couple of examples. I just got to thinking, I do have a couple of Los Angeles forest service maps (fold out paper style) that show all the proper trails id's.
  4. Ok, so I got my new Oregon 450T, I like the ease of use. Couple things are a little frustrating though. One when I'm using it in the car in auto mode, it tracks off most of the streets in the pre-loaded maps. Meaning it's not exactly where the street shows on the display, it's usually off, to the rite, left or whatever. I understand this may be due to the pre installed maps, will this affect my geo-cahing when trying to locate a cache ?? Another issue I have is, on the preloaded maps it doesn't show trail numbers (I live in SoCal, off road trails have a numbering sys), it just says "road" or "trail". Thats one reason I got the 450t, because I thought it would say what trail I'm on. I'm going to use the gps for off road adventures in our SxS as well geo-caching. I thought I could find an easy fix at GPSFile Depot, I downloaded two different maps, CA Topo map (which is an overlay (??) but it doesn't let all the street/trail name info show, kinda disappointing) & My trails which i thought would show trial numbers, neither do. In fact both are quite disappointing. Thats why I am here asking questions. Where can I find good accurate maps along with properly designated trails. Also is there a way on the 450T to have it show what road or trail i am on, maybe along the bottom, similar to what I would find on the tom-tom I use at work in the car ?? Thanks, in advance
  5. I was able to find the download here
  6. Where did you get v2.35.41? Can't find the new version to download but I installed AppToDate and it update it to v2.35.41 for me. The update fixed the cache not found error I was getting. what website are you downloading this from ? I am very interested in loading this onto my samsung omnia with WinMo & giving it a try. We love GC but it's way too time consuming to have to manually enter all that stuff into my gps. This looks and sounds like a great alternative.
