This is exactly the sort of thing that I love finding while geocaching. (Gum stuck on things, not so much) http://thisiscolossal.com/2011/09/money-trees/ -renzo

My cards aren't really a signature item, but they are certainly unique. Nice trading with you GeoLobo!

For the record, I found the Google Earth KML to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I hope to see it return sooner than later. -renzo

All you puzzle lovers out there may want to check out this unsolved mystery. I'm not even close to understanding it, but I found enough inspiration to make a cache out of it. Happy Mayday! -renzo

Inexpensive (but decent quality) cache box ideas?
renzotobias replied to peepshow's topic in General geocaching topics
Generally, if it's good at keeping liquids IN you can depend on it to keep liquids OUT. With that in mind, I like 1/2 gallon coolers from Walmart and Target. They are happy to be rid of them in the winter for $2-4 bucks. Seal the spouts with a glue gun, hit 'em with camo spray, and you've got something beefy for less than the cost of an ammo can. Here's what I'm talking about: http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?t=5&am...temNumber=85006 -renzo -
This sounds like it was written by a person who would really enjoy geocaching. Is it just me, or does the trailer look like a great big ammo can? Caravan -renzo

Here's a cache that I created using a kayak. I was tempted to put the final underwater, but I wanted to make it possible to find in the winter too. Tour le Lac Here's a picture cache that uses a bicycle. It could just as easily be done for a kayak. Prairie Trail 20K Have fun! -renzo

Why not set up a cache in another country? Here's what I did: Our Illinois town has a sister city in Holzgerlingen, Germany. I attempted to contact several geocachers there who have existing hides. A couple of them wrote me back in English with a little help from Google Translator. We set up a dummy account and created two cache pages. One was my description of Crystal Lake, Illinois, to be posted in Germany. The other was my new German friend's description of Holzgerlingen to be posted here in Illinois. Sister City: Crystal Lake Sister City: Holzgerlingen Check them out when they both come online later today. It's been fun! -renzo p.s. I'm happy to see I am no longer a tadpole.

Stereogram too hard? What to do?

Here's another example. Not many visitors, but the sheer terror keeps people away too. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...d9-5ed8493869b7 -renzo -
This was just a little something for the first to find. Unfortunately the police got involved. Yikes! LINK http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/11/23/massa...ref=mpstoryview -Renzo

I read Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. Can't say I've found any treasures as large as the one in that book, but I'm having a blast looking.

Saturday morning + rain = new geocoin I rolled Super Sculpey between two paint sticks and cut circles with a 3" peanut butter lid. Then I raided my wife’s Stampin’ Up stash and made my name with a letter-punch set taped together. Next was fifteen minutes in the oven at 275° followed by Testors copper enamel paint. This was my first polymer clay coin; I’m pretty happy with it! http://renzoscustomcache.blogspot.com/
