  1. Thanks Tooey and Lisa G. Send me your addresses and an unactivated coin from my collection will be in the mail to you tomorrow. 8 chances left.
  2. *Bump* Not looking for major donations here, just the average price of a coin would do, that would be around £3.50 and the justgiving site takes mastercard and visa The link for donations is here. Edited to add link.
  3. Anyone that, understandably, cannot compete with such high bids for this coin and wishes to make a donation via the link in the OP would be very much appreciated. For anyone doing so - if they include a reference to geocoins in the comments section and email me their address I will send them a coin from my collection. I guess though I should set a limit or I could end up without any coins - so if I check the justgiving link for Moira and I see you have made a donation and you send me your address (first ten only) I will send you a coin.
  4. Thanks for asking the question Cav Scout, I will attempt to answer concisely. I wrote to Moira to ask if a nom de plume could be used when donating via the justgiving website, she assures me that I can make an entry giving the name Highland Geofairy, I can also add a comment in the comments section to say where the money has come from, i.e. the sale of the coin on ebay - or in fact any comment that the winning bidder wishes to make. Moira tells me that the donations are private, that is - she does not get contact details for anyone donating but the donor does get a thankyou email from the justgiving website. Of course when Moira recognises a name she can thank them personally, and likes to do so, but she tells me she has seen a donation from someone and she does not know who it is or how to contact them to thank them. I would be happy to forward the email I receive from justgiving on to anyone, winning bidder or just interested party, and I am sure that Moira will also be writing to the HGF and I would be happy to send that on also. It is also a matter of honour and integrity, I like to do the right thing and would wish to be seen to be doing the right thing, unfortunately for that reason there will be no tax gain on the donation since I am retired on a small pension and a non UK tax payer. Oh dear, that wasn't very concise after all, if you're still awake ! I plan to contribute the full amount on the basis of a conversion rate of $2 to the £ - so $100 = £50, I will cover the fees and I will send the coin by Airsure at my own expense. If anyone has any further questions on this I am happy to try and answer them for you.
  5. Question: How does this coin have two unique icons? Does it have two tracking numbers? And when (if) you activate the coin what do they look like and how do they show up? I wish I could afford to bid on this beautiful coin but it is out of my range. A donation, however, is very do-able! CF30 Icons come in two sizes 32x32 and 16x16. The larger Icons show in your trackables list, the smaller icons show in the 'My Inventory' list on the profile page. The icons do not have to be the same - so the large icon image for this coin is and the teeny weeny one is
  6. I would love to have one of these in any form. The auctions done for us have been a huge help , and wish I could help with this great cause. Sadlly things here are not very stable in the funds area. Maybe trade a Dragon for a fairy. e-mail sent Come on everyone help a great program!!!! I would hate to squelch a trade that has been proposed - but I feel I have to butt in here, I have been very remiss - when submitting the coin we are not meant to talk about I had meant to arrange to send one to you Tracy - I actually have exactly one left - your choice - an original White non trackable or the Black on Gold version - tell me which and send me your address and it is as good as in the post. Well i've been squelched but i suppose you have to forgive when it is coming from the fairy herself Having had the honor of recieving one from the fairy i cannot deny someone else the honor. And the Gold #1 coin has passed the $100 mark. We'll keep watching Ljay Sorry Ljay - I'm not too bright sometimes am I. Maybe rather than offering Tracy a choice, and having to make a decision over which coin, if I agree to send her both coins perhaps she will agree to send you a Dragon. Possibly squelched trade has been unsquelched
  7. Wow - thank you Joranda, that is very kind of you, I love surprises

  9. Thanks Rockin Roddy. The linky thing for the sale is here. I think there are few people that could say cancer has not touched their lives in some way. This charity provides an amazing array of support for both patients and their families and Macmillan nurses are able to provide palliative care in the home.
  10. I am pleased to be able to tell you that my first Gold coin is up for auction on ebay. All of the proceeds from the sale of this coin will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. To read more about the fantastic work that Macmillan do you can visit their website here. To read about my friend who is raising sponsorship and to see where the funds will be paid visit Moira's justgiving page. There are only 25 of these coins, it is trackable and has two unique icons, the coins are also sequentially numbered - the coin being auctioned is coin #001 Good luck bidding, and thank you for reading.
  11. Thank you joranda - I'm 53 today - but I just read that 50 is the new 40, so I guess I could tell ya I'm only 43 today Doing my darndest to stave off the middle aged spread but everyone seems to think I need Chocolate for my birthday - it's a tough call, the Chocolates are gonna win
  12. I received some lovely birthday gifts today. One was an article of clothing, not my style, not my colour and definitely not my size, so it will be returned to the store for a credit with which I will choose something that I do like, however I would not dream of telling the person who gave it to me, I shall thank them very much for their kind gift. This led me to thinking about a recent thread that was closed, someone had gifted a coin, but the gift giver made it known that their wish was that the coin was never to be sold. Seems a recipient decided to sell it anyway and this caused the giver hurt feelings, I believe they asked for a list of coins that were being sold and their coin did not appear on the list sent to them. Probably to spare any hurt feelings, but the giver found out that others got a different list with their coin on it and so were understandably upset and felt that the recipient of their gift was being less than honest, which was probably not their intent, but the result is that someone has been very hurt by this. If I was given a geocoin and the gift was 'conditional' i.e. not to be sold, I would respect that wish, but not everyone would do so, that is the reality, but my question is - is it not better to just give freely in the hope that the recipient will treasure it? It would save a great deal of angst on the part of the giver. What do you think?
  13. I was hoping for a translatoin, but then I decided it looks cool just the way you read it, I've no idea what snyggaste lilla småkryp is but I'm sure it describes this little fella just fine, is is one cute bug. Congratulations to all those recently bitten.

  19. Sometimes, That is Very Alright ! How very correct this is! One thing I was told by my Mom and some honorable, worthy advisors over the years - it is not the amount of what you give - but the fact that you do some thing, say some thing - no matter how big or how small - that it comes from the heart with love and sincerity. This has never been poor advice. We all live in different places, have different circumstances and sometimes - even on different days. Do not feel small or less worthy because you can not give financially. The gift of prayers, thoughts and blessings from your heart is also immeasurable in worth! Wow, you blow me away kiddo...THANK-YOU for such profound words! I couldn't agree more - I hope that everyone that comes into the forums gets to read this.
  20. I feel very honoured to have received this today, thank you so much. The enclosed card and wording were also very much appreciated. I would frame it but then I would not be able to look at the whole of it. Thank you also to the GBOTS for forwarding this on to me.
  21. I just love those wee duckies Thank you so much.
  22. Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. Hey - no need for you to apologise TJ, my eagerness to put the record straight was not well thought out, I should have emailed you to edit the post. No harm done, I hope.
  23. I should not want anyone to feel misled by the above, this may not be the last of these coins that make an appearance in America, however - there were only 50 of these coins made, so there will not be many more making an appearance. For a current view of where they all are visit this map I think TJ thought there might be a few more trades available, 10 trades were made, this was the limit I set for trades. And unless anyone wants to part with their coin, this will be the ONLY one that goes up for sale. Many thanks to TJ for suggesting this donation and organising the auction with WI_Robin.
