  1. Thank you both - you are so right. I just downloaded gsak and already its 100x better than what I was using. Now I just have to figure it all out... thank you!
  2. I just got my Garmin 60cs and signed up for the premium service, so I installed the mapsource, hooked up the GPS, installed easy gps, ran a pocket query and then told it to download to my GPS. What I got was a bunch of waypoints with names like gcnfwn. I can see the descriptions if I go into the waypoint, but is there a better way? Also, is easy gps the best way to get the pocket query into my GPS? Help! Lost in Denver
  3. Another female here - just started this week in fact! I am hoping to go out on my first hunt tonight when I get home from work!!!!! My husband worked with someone that does this as a hobby and told me about it months ago and I was just like okay whatever - but then he actually had me go to the website last Sunday and when I read about it and realized how many sites are near my home I decided it sounded like fun! We immediately started looking for a GPS to buy - I got the SporTrak Pro from Cost Co - great deal and so far easy to use. Anyway, we spend too much time in front of the computer and thought this would be something fun we could do together to get a little exercise and hopefully find some new and interesting places!!! Dark blonde BTW
  4. oh, okay. Guess i'll ge the topo when it comes out.
  5. Sure did, thanks. Is there a way to get updated maps? I noticed that some of the maps were a bit old.
  6. I just got my brand new SporTrak Pro (thanks to the great Cost Co deal) and I am eager to get going, so I installed the Mapsend Streets and Destinations onto my PC. When I tried to upload the latest version of software and database using the MAGUP Firmware loader I get an error saying UNSUPPORTED RECEIVER - I have verified my COM port and checked my BAUD rate. I see that it says that the MAGUP is for MAP 330 units and when I go to Expert it shows GPS 315/320. How can I tell if my unit is MAP 330 or GPS 315/320? Do I even need to download this? Please help!
  7. I was thinking of buying the kit at costco ( CLICKY ) which comes with: --Magellan SporTrak Pro Hand-held GPS Receiver --Two(2) AA Batteries --Power Adapter for Automobile Use --PC Cable --MapSend Street and Destination Software --Canvas Carrying Case for a price of 275.00, and I also get 75 dollars mail in rebates. Is this a deal for a first timer, or should i look else where? Are Magellan SporTrak pro Okay?
