  1. I like the idea Team J, will have to get with the Community group here and see what the take would be.
  2. Well we all know Clinton held a lot of strange things.
  3. Becareful about saying what you killed some states have laws protecting different rattlers. An example
  4. I found the webpage that talked about the cache, so I wouldn't have any problem of actually going there to get it. So I am marking this as a find. Thanks for the hunt. Now if I can just find the Yellow Jeep Fever Locationless Cache. I swear a pirate stole that one SWLN (Signed webpage, left nothing.)
  5. To remark to the broadband world. Um no it isnt, still over 80% of the world is on dial up.
  6. ju66l3r, So with your Idea, it would be like an offset TB I take it? But then what about the person that plants after, they would have to do an offset also. It seems though that I would have to in some way associate it with a tree. Which gets me to think, that maybe attach the tb to the tree, and a copy of the tb in a log book that goes in a cache. They take the log book which has last recorded long/lat and retrieves the TB. Then they plant their tree, leaving the TB tere, marking down the new long/lat and leave that in a cache. Along with updating the travel bug webpage with the coordinates they left the TB. Hmm ok will keep thinking on how to work it and hope more people suggest ideas to work off of.
  7. Ok, I was surfing the net for TB ideas, and came up with this.... There is a tree of life pendant, that I would purchase, and attach a tb. (ok so far doable.) The Mission though is that you are to take the tb, then Plant a tree, sapling, bush. Get Long/Lat coordinates and leave the TB. Then the next person could come by, take the tb, go plant a tree, leave the tb, and get new corrdinates. And repeat process. The trouble I am seeing though. unless everyone is already watching the TB noone would know it was in their area, since its not placed in a cache. There is no log, not to mention a moving cache isnt allowed. So I ask the community how could I set up this tb, to inspire people to get with their community to plant a tree, then have it so that GC.com can let those nearby know its there. ?
  8. I have to agree with most. Move it. After all, those that don't play fair. EG: Snatches them all, do you think they are going to play with your take 1 leave 1 rule? TB's have a purpose to go somewhere, do something. And I doubt that mission is "I want to sit in a cache for as long as possible". And As I have just ordered 8 tags, and getting a couple ready for deployment. I have made 2 of them Cacheless TB's meaning they are to be handed from 1 person to the next. not dropped off in a cache. I may even have a 3rd going that way. as for the rest I still thinking of how they will travel.
  9. I like this, make it so that if the transparencies aren't overlapped properly. eg: the top is not set up on the top of the other (upside down) you get a different coordinate. This would make it more of a challenge.
  10. I see all the "perks" BUT does it make phone calls? It was the reason I left every cell phone company. I could never get a signal. It has been now 2 yrs since I had a phone. Are they getting better at actually keeping a signal? My Magellan was able to lock a signal in faster and longer than my sprint phone.
  11. Some crafts store sell wood (Michaels for those in the states). I used bamboo myself, as they are hollow and can be used as compartments to store things such as, matches, string, extra batteries, etc. I even had a light on the top that was powered so at night I could still see to some degree. Some people saw the staff last year when I was at events. The bamboo cost me I believe 3 bucks if that much.
  12. You can also read about DHMO Here> I have used this site as a tool when teaching people how to use the interenet and to read websites with a grain of salt. ( And not just cuz Salt absorbs DHMO quite well).
  13. Actually there is a slightly easier method for the non premiere. When you do your search, check each box on the page. Then at the bottum there is a download .loc button. That will Download the loc of all the one you have selected. Granted this only gets you about 20 at a time. I use this method then send them over to Excel to get a full list, that I can then sort out. May be a little more work, but that doesn't stop me.
  14. Though i have created my owh already, I would be interested in learning some new tricks. Can add me to the list.
  15. cool thanks for the info. I knew of the CKS as it came to my area, though I was outta the Geo thing at the time. From what I gathered of the few times I went to check it out it was always passed at a cahce or an event. so there was always a geo-cache to associate it with. But good to know I can still have people log it, and hopefully will stay in circulation longer.
  16. Ok after reading a few threads (as disturbingly as they were). I am curious as to the logging of TB's. I just ordered my first set, and one of my bugs was going to be a "friendship" TB. This bug was NEVER to be placed in a cache. But rather, passed to a NEW friend you made, talked to them and they found the idea neat. THey would then take the TB and pass it on to another NEW friend. So it would always be in someones hand rather than a soggy, moldy cache box. Is this TB non doable? I have only had a couple tbs and that was quite some time ago (last year). I am getting back into geocaching and tbs n such so trying to relearn the rules er I mean guidelines, and all the new ones that have been added since.
  17. I just got some Liquid Ice breath mints that came in a small container, and seems water proof, I just emptied it last night and am sinking it for my first hide of a multi. It will be used to hold the coordinates, is about 1/8th inch thick. and about 1" by 3/4". Here is a pic I found of 2 lovely ladies holding a few of the containers. Liquid Ice Container or the website... Liquid or Ice
  18. I dont see why this would be disabled. As it is still a standard cache that allows trading of items by cachers.
  19. Honorable volunteer work AH. Not to add too much length to this post but I feel this should get stickied. (will delete after it gets stickied or 1 week to reduce clutter)
  20. I was refering to some of the people that posted to your comment, again I myself have no problem with it, words are just that words. I have heard thm all and used them all. But considering the hassle upin gets about his name and that he should change it, then to see the same people coming here and laughing just twists my mind of logic. After all this is a "family" site and to laugh at fudgehole and be offended by chit is double-standard.
  21. I find this thread offensive. Not for the fudge thing personally I found it amusing. But what I find offensive is the double standards. This is all in remarks to upinyachit and his handle, and everyone wants it changed for the offensive nature it implies. yet a thread that is intended to just mock it, and then is even supported and laughed at by a mod is dishearting. Where are the standards now? Where are the moms and dads crying they dont want to see their kids exposed to this? What kids aren't smart enough to fiigure out what is meant by a fudgehole but can tell what chit is? I am offended, not by the name created just the double standard, joke or no joke its wrong to say he should change his name but then come in here and start joking about this.
  22. Person C is better because they logged it in the log book AND logged online. Both are acceptable and within the bounds of the game, they both get the enjoyment of finding the treasure. Some just like a souvenier while others don't want the extra dust collectors. Edit: my type C person is not the same as Stunods type C. I am guessing his was the non logger.
  23. There was also a monkey that had a bit of an excessive appendage that affended many, also Rudolph I believe. It wont be long before the TB's will now be moderated as well since there are people with 1. Bad taste. 2. Easily offended by bad taste. Myself I could care less if I saw the tb's that are "questionable" Kids see it everyday (unless constipated), and many more say it. You take your kids in public, you hear someone say it. Are you going to go over and censor the guy? Chances are your kid will hear a few more profanities. Now I am not saying that it should be allowed. I am not saying it shouldn't be allowed. No matter what any and everything is going to offend someone at some point. Some things more than others, and those are the ones that get "censored". Personally I see nothing wrong with profanity, it is a word, whether slang or not, it still invokes an image, idea into another persons mind. That is what words are for-Communication. Some words evoke stronger emotions than other. That is why they are used. I am still waiting for the bich tb to come out. and before censoring look up bich. it is a word, though sounds similarily to another word, though even it has a non-slang term to it.

    Tb Idea

I have to agree with the last post, make a notecard set of directions or such showing what button to press to enter new waypoints. Nice idea, hope it goes well in its journeys.
