I use the Stinger- and it's amazing- and since it's rechargable, I don't have to run out for batteries all of the time,(makes the price a bit easier to swallow) and the charge lasts for a long time. I have friends who have the big D cell maglights- and my little stinger out shines theirs. http://www.streamlight.com/sting_hp_info.htm

  6. We just passed our 100 finds mark this weekend- a trip to cache thick New Brun filled in the final 12! -Stingray and Butterfly
  7. The cruise ships usually dock at Pier 21, and those two caches are easily within walking distance, for the First Post just stick to the boardwalk for a great view of the Harbour, and then walk up to the location. Also, for about $1.50 you can cross the harbour on the 5-10min ferry ride to Dartmouth and hit a multi cache (micro) that is within walking distance fm the ferry terminal... I think it's called "it's up hill from here", and about 1 mile fm the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal is "Old MdDonald(micro)- a great walk across the bridge. The good thing about these two is that they are both in the same direction. To check the caches- a close postal code is "b3j 1k8" -Stingray
  8. I think that is the one- tks -Stingray
  9. Hi, I know I read it here some where before, but I can't find it now. Road trips are coming up this summer and I want to search for caches along the route. The site I went to before was a map that I could zoom in on and click on the cache locations that brought me to their page. Thanks for any info -Stingray
  10. I know there was a thread earlier- but what about a geocaching logo ring, or necklace pendant.
  11. Bugs arrived today!!! now that is quick service. we will be releasing our first bug ever this weekend for the big race -Stingray
  12. Dragonfly and Redfox- Thank-you so much for your great offer- but I got ahold of them today and there was a mixup with the order- and they are sending the bugs down today-overnight- so it looks like I will be ready to go for the big race on Saturday! I mentioned all the good comments from folks who have used their services and they were pleased to hear that you like dealing with them. looks like I have a new place to get lots of cool goodies!!

  15. Hello, I was wondering what sort of time it took for anyone who ordered travel bugs from gps central. I have paid by credit card- and ground FedEx. I have ordered the travelbugs over 2 weeks ago and I need them for the big race this Saturday. Anyone else have any issues with their delivery... thanks- -Stingray
  16. Hello, I have three- Animal Planet- animal toys or anything doing with animals, School Daze- school supplies and Super Cache- superhero / comic themes. Alot of people have followed the theme- and others have not- and I don't see this as a problem- as long as they enjoy the trip and the kids enjoy the goodies. -Stingray
  17. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has taken a Search and Rescue course to help them with their basic knowledge? Our local search and rescue in Nova Scotia is offering two courses- map/compass and a GPS navigation course- I wanted to hear if people took them and what they thought of them? their website has info on their training programs. http://www.hrsar.ca/ -tks
  18. I would like to help as well. As for events, I would like to wait until we were out of the snow season to make travel a bit safer. -Stingray
  19. Merry Christmas from the East Coast (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) - not a white Christmas...it's actually an unheard of 11 degrees! Hope everyone has a happy, healthy and fun holiday -Stingray and Butterfly....my 6 year old daughter who now wants to be called "rockstar"..sigh... growing up way too fast
  20. ok, that's easy, I just thought that there was more to that- that the co-ords were not added in the 10's but something else tks -Stingray
  21. I have been doing this for a little bit, but I have a question when it comes to adding Lats or Longs. On many mulit-caches you have to add up various numbers to get the final co-ords.... so what is the basic rule of thumb when doing this? tks Stingray
  22. Does anyone have ideas on what snacks they take on their searches? any special homemade trail mix? I am looking for new ideas to pack to keep the 4 hungry kids I bring with me full and not begging to stop at the corner store or McDonalds! -Stingray
  23. I am glad you asked, I thought it was something that I did wrong when I uploaded my pic of a stingray....thought I might of had mislabeled the file.. or something I messed up. Stingray
