NOTE: this is posted in another section but I also found it to be relevent here as this is where the event would be.
So I used to Geocache a few years ago and have recently gotten back into the fever. Personaly I think that I find much more joy in placing and designing caches than I do finding them. I have often thought that it would be fun to have a "geo race." On top of that it would be even more fun if there were a major prize. Hence the following proposal.
The Idea:
A massive multicache race spanning multiple cities. It would incorporate mystery puzzle caches, micros, massive containers, regulars and all others. It would hopefully have enough waypoints that it would be a quite a long day.
The incentive:
Cash is king! A paypal account would be set up a month or two in advance in which participants could purchase key hints or be given part of a puzzle that they would need to solve later. Each player would be limited to 5 hints total. Mind you these are nothing major.
Each hint would cost $2. Half of the proceeds going to the FTF, 2TF, and 3TF. The other half would go to a charity that this thread could possibly decide. Donations to the charity would always be welcome of course.
In order to begin the event and have the event coordinates posted there would be a cache placed at the first location that would have the first waypoint inside, but would stand alone after the event.
Well let me know what you all think. I would love to hear your input.
