  1. par·i·ty1 /ˈperədē/ noun 1. : the quality or state of being equal or equivalent. Visual Euphoria Designs presents "PARITY" (Third installment of the Tranquility series) The Parity Geocoin is the third installment of the Tranquility series. This is a 50.8mm (2") round coin, 3.5mm thick. It features five (5) color rings on the obverse and 4 color rings on the reverse. The center motif on the front features the European and African continents along with Madagascar and the eastern Atlantic Ocean. From a design point of view, it's a very complex coin - having a 3 level obverse and a 5 level reverse. There is also something new on the coin that the previous two (Tranquility and Circle of Four) did not have... embedded stones. Lots of stones... twelve (12) in all. There are lavish borders and intricate design elements on both sides of the coin. The Four Elements are represented on both sides of the coin by way of gemstones on the obverse and symbols on the reverse. The obverse side features Earth, Air, Fire & Water by its corresponding precious gemstone (Gold, Emerald, Diamond & Ruby). Those elements are represented on the reverse by their symbols. The third ring on the obverse is represented by our feathered friends from around the world. The bird ring will be prominent in raised metal. Ring number two features sheet music of a well known inspirational song that is not just from days past, but also lends itself to nighttime lullabys. (I intend on running a cointest on the title of the music, therefore will not reveal its title here). However, if you are able to read musical notes, please do not spoil the surprise. The text on the reverse that I found most fitting is a beautiful quote by Ruth Bernhard, a German born American artist/photographer. It reads "The ground we walk on, the plants and creatures, the clouds above constantly dissolving into new formations - each gift of nature possessing its own radiant energy, bound together by cosmic harmony." Surrounding the quote on the obverse are the elemental symbols on rings 2 & 3. Of course, Geocaching tracking is also on the reverse side of the coin. The recessed 16 wedge wheel on the reverse will be textured with basket weave on one side (Gritty #10) and waves on the other (Gritty #12), all of which will be under translucent enamel.

  12. Early geocoins had the "PC" prefix for 'personal geocoin'. If the coin you purchased does not have a 6 digit alpha-numeric code on it, it is probably untrackable (but serialized). ~GG
  13. Hi everyone... No..haven't disappeared.. Life just took over for a bit and I haven't been online. Yes, the coins are still in production. There was a production flaw in one of the dies that had to be fixed, and now that that is done, I am just waiting on the mint to ship them. Tracking numbers have been sent to the mint, the icon is done and has been sent to Groundspeak (which they will have uploaded today). All who have emailed me about production have been answered the same day, but the forum is just not on my priority list in the grander scheme of things. I fault myself for not paying more attention to what rumors may have flown (and I haven't read up from this post.. just got a phone call requesting a status). As soon as I get a firm shipment date from the mint, I will share. Those whose shipping costs that have not been calculated during the presale will be calculated when the coins arrive. I went ahead and minted BOTH versions that Keewee designed as a result of the cointest he won. He will be receiving one of each version (Note to Keewee: your SoCal order will be included with that). The deal with the die was that they missed one of the raised metal compass points (ya know... the N S E W).. well.. South was missing. Not like they could engrave it down like recessed.. they had to cut a new die. Not like I had a choice in the matter - I want the coin perfect. So, having said that, my email and phone still work, so if anyone has any questions or concerns, do send me an email (info@geocoindesign.com) or call me (541 999 6961) - Same email/phone info as on my website. I would be happy to answer any questions or comments. ~J
  14. I am heading home today from my 4 day Labor Day jaunt to my sisters place, but wanted to let you all know that I received V04 art this morning (I looked at it on my web mail server since it came to my phone!). It appears that the mint got all the textures correct the FIRST TIME AROUND (YAY), so now they just have to send me the remaining color versions and make sure the art is correct on all color versions together (ie: making sure the compass headings are on all the versions, just in case. That was pointed out earlier in this thread). However, when I get home this afternoon (3.5hr drive ahead of me), I will get art posted so everyone can take a look! Hope everyone's weekend was as wonderful as mine! ~J
  15. I'm not sure which coin you are looking at there, and I have taken an extra day off for Labor Day, so - what you see may have been a sample photo. I was playing around with colors and metals and you really can't rely on what cointracking has for photos of the Tigers. I do know that I still have some AE Tigers in a box somewhere at home My sister swiped my personalized AE from my keychain this weekend, so looks like I have to activate one when I get home and put it on my keyring with my Horse and Lion. ~J
  16. As I understand it, when you make changes to your account profile you have to log out of both your GC account and your Forums login for your changes to take effect. That is the only way I can get my avatar to change. So make your change, then log out of both accounts... just a suggestion. ~J Edited to add: Then log back into both accounts to see your changes. Your geocoin map may then locate on your listed coords.
  17. Heh... that should be your new tagline! ~J
  18. I think I would want to see how you plan on displaying the "Trackable at Geocaching.com" + individual serial number + Groundspeak Tracking number on the back side. Is this going to be a rectangular coin with a recessed and filled Gecko or will it be a shaped/die cut coin with the Gecko as the outline? My opinion without seeing the back would be "its going to be cluttered with text and numbers on the back"; but if I understand this first side, I'm thinking rectangular - the text could be on the edge if you still plan to have a 3mm - 3.5mm thickness. Additionally, you would have 4 sides to engrave on. So, it really depends on the other side for me. ~J
  19. Another great design~ Bravo! ~J
  20. OUTSTANDING Job Kim!! Love to trade you one of your AEs for one of mine ~J
