I thoroughly enjoy our family traditions: (1) My wife and I always cook for our neighbors... even the ones we rarely see. We make alot of different candies and baked goods, then make plates for each neighbor with a selection of each: cookies, cheesecake, fudge, brownies, etc. We ALWAYS make pralines, which is a Southern candy that will make your mouth so, so happy. (2) On Christmas morning, my wife and I make pancakes and an "Orange Julius" drink for our kids:
6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate
1 cup milk, lowfat okay
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 ice cubes
Directions
1-Combine all ingredients, except ice cubes, in blender.
2-Blend 1-2 minutes , adding ice cubes one at a time, until smooth.
(3) Except for our two kids, there aren't any other kids on my side of the family. Everyone gets gifts for the kids, but we adults came up with a better idea than exchanging gifts: each adult finds some charity and donates a certain amount, then on Christmas Eve we tell one another which charity we picked and why.
