  1. i have a just got a sportrak map and am trying to load directRoute on it. however you need to upgrade the firmware from 3.0 to 5.0 which unfortunetly i do not know how to do yet.
  2. I'm interested in the: Meridian/Sportrak USB to Serial Adaptors - these are original Magellan equipment. Out of the package but never used. We purchased them in case we needed them in a classroom situation. They come with a CD for the drivers. Magellan lists it for $44.99 - willing to sell it for $25.00 + SHIPPING do you still have it?
  3. Ok i guess that about wraps it up. Still though, it would be nice if they change their button design instead. My cell phone goes in my pocket w/o any buttons getting depressed. its a nokia 3260
  4. It seems when i stick the gps in my pocket, some button always gets bumped and usually its the off button. I would like to see someone come up with a 1/8 inch thick foam overlay for the Magellan Meridan push buttons. This foam pad would stick to the key pad and have holes cut out for the buttons and curser disk. Does this exsist already?
  5. ok i think i found my problem. i just finished upgrading the firmware from 5.09 to 5.35 and now it seems to be leaving the tracks like i'm used to seeing. thanks for the info on tracks.
  6. I've gone to menu, "map setup" and then "Detail" = highest, "track mode" = auto (also 2 mi., and auto detailed) and i still get straight lines that go back to the point of starting. it doesn't keep track of where i go.
  7. On my Sportrak Pro with mapsend streets and destinations it was able to leave a bread crumb trail. after losing my gps i got the mag. gold with DirectRoute and can't figure out how to get that bread crumb trail back. All I get is straight line tracks. thanks for any help this way.
  8. i have one and used it in kawai. worked just fine once it locked on the satillites. on a road with tall trees it was slow to lock on.
  9. i can almost get the state of oregon on 23 MBs using Streets and destintations map data (not topo). but it really depends on the amount of data that is in that state. ie i was able to copy the area from west coast oregon to hawaii. not much data in in the ocean.
  10. Somehow as if by magic my trip odometer disappeared off one of my screens. i can't seem to figure how to get it back. there is no "customizing" for this screen. It's the screen that has the time/date and Lat/lon #'s on it. i can still get the trip miles off of the verticle profile screen. thanks for any help along this way.
  11. i would like to know where i might find a more detailed info on the data fields used. ie. what is eta, how is it figured, and how to use it. i didn't find anything on the magellan web site.
  12. does anyone know why you can't edit a travel bug entry? i put in the wrong date and had to fake rehiding the bug in the original cache site to make a proper entry.
  13. what is epe that your talking about?
