  1. What I don't understand about the "coin copy" issue is - how can a person place a copy/picture in a cache to be discovered while ALSO taking the original to events and allowing it to be "discovered"? I've seen this a few times - the "copy" is in a cache getting "discovered", while the original is at an event miles away ALSO being discovered. It just doesn't seem "right" to me somehow - but I'm still quite new to all this.
  2. OK, I've received a reply from a person that would know - and I'm totally satisfied that this was just a "human" type thingie - compared to some "alien" thingie taking over, and causing mass weirdness IOW - I'm fine with it, and I appreciate the time having been taken, that was needed to explain it But just to be clear - I WILL have a prob if my LV becomes part of a noobies' multi-cache, and other peeps thinks it's "k", so long as the co'ords are legit - LOL!
  3. Thanks for your replies and feed-back. It just seemed odd to me, right from the get-go, that a "cache" had a "goaL", and included a description of places where it, "the TB that is the cache", could be logged and/or found...I haven't seen many of those in the past year I've spent reading this forum. Seemed to me to be an ALR, at the least - but who knows, (other than the Shadow)? I often get e-mail of new listings - and decide whether or not I want to go for the FTF. I haven't FTF yet, but in this case - it's because I don't even understandstand what is required b4 I even attempt to try - it's like the cache itself has a "goal", above and beyond simply being "found", and that's something I simply haven't ran across yet...but no matter, "to each his own" I guess
  4. What kind of cache is this? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...b1-5e9f1671c688 I'm; being new, confused - ? Is it really a newly listed traditional cache, is it a TB, or is it an advertisement??? Like I said..."I'm new", but - this one has me puzzled??? Maybe it's a "puzzle cache"? Maybe it's just a weird listing? - I've seen a few of those b4, but this one really has me confused - is it a "traditional cache", or not? To me, since it has more than a couple "may be"s (ie: the TBs MAY be in one of the following places) - it appears to be an ad for the WV tourist peeps, or even an ad for duck calls? Not to appear "rude", but the person placing the cache has no "finds" or in any other way appears to be a legit cacher..."whatever" that means??? Anywhoo - this was a new one to me - and I was just wondering what kind of cache it was...cuz if it's really a "traditional", and it's clearly a cache meant to allow one to "log as being found", then I'm clearly wrong - BUT - if it's anything else - then I'm almost set to do a little advertising of my own, in the name of "tourist activities and places of scenic interests" of course - providing even, that you "MAY" even find a TB there
  5. Geesh! I guess I ought to hit "refresh" more often! Everything is sold - thanks very much for all your interest!
  6. Another fun deal, and I just had a really great conversation/meeting with another geocacher! The M515 is sold. Still waitting for confirmation for the M125, - I'm holding it for you - as you were the first to offer.
  7. I have just had one of the funnest (<- is that a word?) experiences yet in my interaction with other cachers! The Z22 is sold - and I have to say that this selling experience was as much fun as going out after the most really interesting cache finds that I've had yet. The buyer just really made my day, what with his patience with my lack of experience in both selling and shipping, and his understanding of the ins and outs of international shipping. There really is a "cachers creed", and it's alive and well. I'm still waitting for confirmation on the other two PDAs, but I again just want to say "thanks", to those who have responded.
  8. Thanks for all the interest expressed! I received several e-mails, and I think I've answered them all - but if I missed anybody, please let me know. It seems there are alot of people interested in going "paperless", and are looking for a reliable PDA at a good price. I wish I had more than the few I have - but if I run across any really good deals again, I'll be sure and share them. I know that having a PDA for caching just can't be beat. And with the cost of ink cartriges being what it is, a decent PDA will only save you money in a very short time, and totally enhance your caching enjoyment in the long run. I know I'll never go back to printing off pages and pages of cache descriptions Thanks again, and I'll post as soon as mine are no longer available.
  9. I have for sale a couple PDAs...@ Cost to me, - (unless shipping to Canada, or other foreign countries - in which case, the buyer would just pay extra for actual shipping cost). I will guarantee either/any/all of these PDAs to work as described upon arrival, else I'll just refund your money - including shipping. There are NO scrathes on either/any of the screens mentioned, nothing in outward appearance to warrant concern about abuse/ excess use, etc. Between my wife and I (and we hashed this out a good deal during the past few months of trial & error, in finding what worked best for us towards going paperless) - we settled on a new, but previously puchased/used TX. We actually have tried/tested each and every one of the units we are offerrng here, but it boiled down to her/us requiring wanting more out of what we tested for just being able to go "paperless", - IOW - my wifes' wishes won out. @ any rate - I have a brand new out of the box (for less than ten days even) M125- with the hyped-up extra "bonas pak", AND as an extra - a padded real leather case, for $35.00 - guaranteed to work as a caching PDA (and more), as I've already tried it out with-in the past couple days - or your money back, (I know that's a seemingly high price - but it really IS brand new, and includes shipping plus the extra leather case). I have a color M515, with all needed "hot-sync" accessories, plus an added thumb key-board - encluding needed software/installation disc - I mean this thingie looks/acts/feels BRANDE NEW! - for 45.00, which is VERY competitve to anything you'd find on eBay, - and ya don't have to worry about peeps not knowing what you're going to use it for - or them being willing to back it up - because "back it up", I will. This thing has everything that our new TX has, at less than a fifth of the cost of a new one. I also have for sale a Z22, in VERY good condition, ( with all needed cables) and we ALL know that THAT is more than is needed to geocache! I've loaded this thingie several times onto not just my VISTA, but my old win98 AND XP - and it works in all ways that it is supposed to! I'm just asking, including shipping, $45.00 for it. I will provide pics VIA email to any interested parties. (I will post them here on-line if needed, as-in you don't have an e-mail) I am offering a "guarantee to work as described" to any purchaser, or your money back. If anybody is interested - please contact me VIA my profile...thanks for your consideration. Again, my asking price includes shipping - except to Canada, or anywhere else except the 48, that may require additional postage.
  10. "leaves and grass" - maybe a muggle, but could've been the wind?
  11. I also use a TX with Vista, and have never had a prob - I use both Cachemate & GSAK. Perhaps this link will be of some help to you? http://www.palm.com/us/support/windowsvista/
  12. Thanks for the warning. I never had a reaction to it until I was in my forties - then it hit me like a locomotive. B4 then, I could have eaten it with no reaction. Also - poison oak, - never had a prob with it, 'till I got old...now, all it takes is for me to be near it. Thanks again for the warning.
  13. I think this is what you want - http://www.geocacher-u.com/
  14. Does Karla Comfort, know you bought her Hummer? http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/news/HOKHummer.jsp http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal5...mer/gal4942.htm
  15. Thanks! Super_Nate, I've submitted my cache for review .
  16. I'd like to hide a cache. I'd like it to be a 2 stage multi. My ? is: how do I, on the hide a cache submission page, do this? I understand the first part about type, description, waypoint, etc - but I became quite confuzzled about how to enter the second part, or "final" stage? IOW, I can't figure out the "how to" part of submitting my second/final stage - I'm sure it's quite easy, but being the simple son of a shoe maker that I am, I just can't figure out how to submit for review what I wanna TIA, for any and all help. BTW - I'm papasurf, and me and mine have been having quite an enjoyable time becoming envolved with Geocaching, I can easily see how it can/does become an "addiction", it's just too much fun!
