Any update on the cache you found? Hope you were able to view the Geocaching 101 page so that you can find the way to put your found item back to where it supposed to be.

You've already gone through the basics, have you tried system recovery and re-installing VP? Sometimes deleting system registry won't help, only backing up to previously unconfigured settings do the trick.
