  1. Set it up as collectable... So that they cannot grab it/retrieve it and only discover it... This eliminates the issue of "mileage"
  2. During the 3 month period any any further 'retrieve' or 'grab' log on the trackable would automatically confirm its existence and bring it back to full opaqueness. Note: If any trackable passes into Unknown Location through an error (e.g. it was in the cache but the cacher just didn't see it there) it is very easily brought back into the game by the next person who finds it and notes the tracking number. Marking any trackable as Missing does not mean (and has never meant) that the item can not return to the game. ------------------------------------------------ I've had a trackable go missing for more that a year... The person that took it moved and it got mixed into a box that wasn't opened for some time... I can't see any complaints providing that if/when a trackable is found, 3 months, a year, 3 years... whatever... that it can at that time be "brought back to life"
  3. Maybe a better wording will be "any extra toys will be blown up in a dumpster in front of 20 screaming kids on their birthdays." Sorry.. just catching up on this topic.... Apparently, that would be acceptable LOL
  4. I have had several encounters with police while caching, however, I too ALWAYS carry a couple of brochures and cards with me. The times that I have been "stopped" I immediately inform them that I am geocaching and that I have a brochure that explains it fully (NEVER reach in your pocket for one until you say that you are reaching for it!) I also have a geocaching.com 3"x3" sticker on my windshield and a geocaching.com licence plate frame on the back that has helped. Due to this foresight, the worst I have been through is bad jokes, "geocaching? Well if there's cash, I can have 20 officers here in less than 5 minutes to look for it." (Tip: smile and laugh). I have even had one officer stop me that was a geocacher and gave me a tip on how to find it. My biggest tips would be: Don't have attitude, say you are geocaching and offer a card or brochure to explain. There are quite a few websites (ie: www.geocacher-u.com) where you can print cards & brochures.
