  1. No way to opt-out but you can use this backdoor URL to see someone else finds in the old format : https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=NAMEHERE Just change the NAMEHERE by the geocacher name your are looking for
  2. Well we a have a great case of recent history of Geocaching HQ doing exactly that...
  3. Like baer2006 said not convincing reason. Just put a watch on those events and webcam cache. It's 2021 now a big upgrade of Notification System is required it's dumb to require to put a new notifications for each different type of cache to get the new published.
  4. In metric it's even worse we only have 100 km (about 60 miles)... Don't know why the max limit is so low. I don't mind go some extra km for some events.
  5. The main reason why Event Owner can log their own event cache is to be able to get souvenir. But yeah I agree it make no sense to not be able to log your own cache but you can log your own lab cache...
  6. Like Max and 99 said you can edit anything after publication and the reviewer isn't involved at all in the process unless you put something against the guideline (ie You have to sign the logbook with a Red pen only) and someone made a complaint to the reviewer. Max and 99 isn't a volunteer but care more of the game than most of Groundspeak sadly. Like you wrote our suggestions normally goes to a black hole and Groundspeak decide on their own what to do and give us not so great results out of it like the current Old search controversy.
  7. Well it's a 2006 so it's normal for the reviewer to give more leeway than a 2018 but yeah maybe still too much in this case.
  8. Well in my area putting a NM on a wet logbook would be putting yourself on the bad cacher list.
  9. What??? Guess I will remove my previous statement it was a good update if you can't show it to others the way you like...
  10. Good start that can be improved, been so many years that we are requesting this feature. The souvenir that I hide aren't showing in grey like before but only the text under it change. Yeah me too I was hoping to have an option to be similar to project-gc grouping
  11. Direct your complaint here : Meanwhile use this URL : https://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?ul=Rainbow Spirit
  13. From this release note : ''Why did we make this update? There are many different ways to search for geocaches on Geocaching.com. With this update, we are taking the first step towards retiring the old search, which has remained in place for six years since the current search was released in March 2015. The goal is to reduce the confusion from (and related cost of maintaining) multiple search experiences, but also to reduce website vulnerabilities. As a benefit, this update provides consistent filtering and sorting, the option to add caches to a List, and the increased option to map caches from the search results. '' I am puzzled about which confusion they are writing about? The good practice of Groundspeak to interact with the community before releasing update from that article from March 2015 they quoted yesterday has been sadly lost : ''We’re excited to announce the launch of the new geocache search tool. It’s faster, easier to use and helps you find the exact adventure you want—and it’s all thanks to the geocaching community. We started the upgrade by asking geocachers what they wanted, then gave Geocaching Premium members a Sneak Peek at the new tool before launch.''
  14. I completely agree that Groundspeak has their own agenda and our opinion on this forum are 99% of the time not considered at least publicly. We have a great example with the recent ''update'' removing a bunch of useful feature.
  15. AFAIK they are 2 completely differents teams thats why there are so many differences between Geocaching and AL But yeah don't know why the AL map offer so few information on it. Not even a scale.
  16. Like they said in the release note it's missing the NM attribute (could be added manually with the filters to just show NM) and tractable (but it's flip of a coin anyway to find in a cache) Something else I saw disappeared is the region/country of the cache. Now it's only display the distance from your home.
  17. Only possible future improvements??? You only need to add this line of text to the url to save everyone 2 clicks and correct your mistake : &sort=FoundDateOfFoundByUser&asc=False
  18. Any plans to bring those features on the new search results? Like others said why default sorting isn't by date instead of distance???????
  19. If number doesn't matter why the E.T. power trail exist? Why Armchair logger exists then?
  20. If they are D1 for sure the cache police will show up but more unlikely for D5. Edit : I am not targeting the reviewer at all doing their job but regular geocacher that would put NM/NA for the wrong reasons.
  21. There are no Premium players in your area at all? I have 22 under 10 miles.
