  1. This has been a useful thread to me as I had a log deleted by the CO last week for the first time - I did not even know they could do that until I got the notification email from Geocaching.com! He obviously took exception to my log in which I included valid remarks to be fair to current and future searchers as I and several other logs had reported needing contact with past finders. In my log I even wrote "sorry 'owner' but at only 8mm across, I think this is a nano not a micro". I have sent a message to the CO asking to be reinstated (without any comments if he so wishes) but if he does not do this for me, I now know what to do. Thanks.
  2. I agree with the previous post - swapping seems to be of more interest to the youngsters whereas I am in it for the navigation, the find and to help TBs achieve their objectives where I can. I was told by a very experienced cacher that "trackables" don't require a swap if you retireve them to move on.
  3. It was great to meet so many from near and (very) far. I was so pleased that the weather cheered up for the proper weekend so that you all saw Harrogate at its best. I had a great time and learned lots of new things to help me be a better geocacher. Big thanks to the organising team and thanks to eveyone who was so helpful. Now aiming to get my 100 award and use less paper for cache info. Chris
  4. I need to do this action too but my menu page only has the foolowing icons: Tracks, Routes, Highway, setup, proximity, calendar, calculator, stopwatch, sun&moon, Hunt&fish, Games - no "Waypoints" The only waypoints icon I can get up is in the "FIND" mode Am I missing something? Thanks Chris
  5. I call mine "HOME" because Garmin has a one touch feature to navigate to home location with a press and hold on "FIND". I don't think this would work if I called it something else and it's a feature I use regularly on the road. I do not leave this GPSr in my car when parked so as to minimise theft risk and I have not bothered to programme a home location in the hand-held GPSr I use for Geocaching (now that I have a second unit more suitable for that). Take all reasonable precautions against the bad guys but don't let them spoil your life with fear otherwise they win. Claroman UK
  6. I have been unable to log in to geocacheuk.com for some time; IE gives me the "unable to find" story". Does anybody know why? Thanks Claroman Harrogate UK
