  1. Is a Venture HC routable??? Some guy at the store told us that it isn't...Is that true?
  2. We are looking to purchase some software for our new Venture HC, but are unsure of what to get. We really don't care about elevation or anything, so I don't think we want Topo. We really only care about having complete maps with labelled roads and whatnot. We've read a bit about CityNavigator and MetroGuide, but we aren't really sure of the difference or what would be better. Any thoughts???
  3. Thanks, everyone! We bought the Venture HC last night and we are definitely glad that we got it... We took it out last night and it works really well...We even got accurate readings in our crowded, densely wooded apartment complex in Austin. We are very happy with it and we are going to buy some mapping software today. As far as that goes--what kind of software should we buy?? We don't really care about it showing elevation or anything. We just want to be able to see all of the roads and highways and sidestreets and whatnot, but we don't want to be burdened down by symbols for restaurants and gas stations and hotels. What software is best for that?
  4. Hey everyone! We have just started geocaching and are looking to buy a new GPS. We live in Austin, TX and alot of the geocaches near us are located in an area called "The Greenbelt", which has alot of trees and alot of water. The two models that we are looking at are the ETrex Legend, which retails for $150 in local stores, and the ETrex Venture HC, which retails for $200 in local stores. It seems to me that the only big difference is that the Venture HC is color and has a "high sensitivity receiver". Does anyone know which one would be better for us? Will the high sensitivity make that big of a difference in wooded areas? Also, is anyone familiar with the mapping on these two GPS??? We didn't want to have to purchase any mapping software, as it's pretty expensive.
