  1. Or quite possibly the changes were made after the listings were published. I made that mistake once not intentional I just wasn't aware of the word I wasn't allowed to use.
  2. With a direct download from geocaching.com that is all you are going to get on your 60Csx. This unit isn't capable of paperless caching however you can add more information by using GSAK. What are you expecting to see downloaded?
  3. Cache is dead, lets put it to bed already! Move on people! Better yet, place your OWN version if this is SO important to your stats. Mr. T.
  4. If you use GSAK you can make the fcount column visible and it will tell if you've logged a cache more than once.
  5. I think part of the problem is you state your cache is located at N 52° 30.960 E 013° 34.306 but your posted coords are N 52° 28.253' E 013° 31.409' the later of these two coords is where you will see it on the map and shows up just fine there on the maps. If you want to see the question mark on the map at the other coords you specified in your note than you need to update the published coordinates for the cache.
  6. Whilst I may think Tequila is a butt kisser I completely agree with the sentiment So I would like to wish all the reviewers a Very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2012 .... you too Chuck
  7. To you its not a big deal but to the CO it is. Having hosted four events this past year (two of which were shutdown temporarily because of wording) I don't blame the CO for sticking to his guns. We host these events for the enjoyment of others, to give back to the geocaching community and to just plain have fun. It becomes less enjoyable when you are being nitpicked for every single word you choose intentionally or not. Did someone complain about the wording on this event? Would it be so horrible for a spare toy to fall in the hands of a needy child this Christmas? I don't see where any solicitation took place and I really don't think there was a hidden agenda here. I think the reviewer could lighten up just a tad here but that is just my opinion and I really don't care who likes it.
  8. Oh WoW that is certainly worthy of a cleanup, if we lived closer we would be there to help in the efforts.
  9. Good question. Earth Day is Friday, April 22nd typically they are held near that date, hopefully someone "in the know will post soon.
  10. Its happened to us on more than one occasion and its frustrating because like you we've driven hundreds of km's or vacationed around target caches that are changed after the fact I can't stand to see the hole in our grid (double or single)so I've always gone out and redone another combination of that D/T just to fill the hole. If you use GSAK you can lock the caches as you found them but the statistics grid on gc.com still shows the hole. I don't think its necessary to back out of the challenges you've completed since you met the requirement at the time you logged it. I used to be a challenge "nut" going for all the hard challenges but since having things like happen that are completely out of my control I no longer work on challenge caches and choose to set personal goals for myself instead. Mrs T.
  11. If Groundspeak didn't want to go to the trouble of creating another icon or confirming attributes it could be as simple as putting "Cache Hunt" or other some similar verbage in the title just like we are required to do for "challenge" caches.
  12. I would agree with this completely. While I like the social aspect of the group hunts I don't like the "finding" aspect. What I mean by that is, if you aren't willing to elbow your way to the front of the pack you likely won't participate in the search or even see the hide for that matter. For the most part I would shy away from the large group hunts and stick to the events as we know them. For this reason the filtering aspect would be helpful. Mrs T.
  13. I don't see why the history of the original cache would matter, after all it was archived.
  14. I have no advice on your android but wanted to say Welcome to the sport, glad you are enjoying it!
  15. You make very valid points all the way around, so let me first say Congratulations on your very first FTF. I think we've all had similar thoughts like yours. We've shared FTF's that were very clearly found by us, but as a gesture shared it to be polite. We've also had the flip side where the person has clearly said, you found it, its yours. You win some you lose some. Since you are fairly new to the game I am guessing there may be a time later on down the road that you might need the help of this other cacher, so since you agreed to share it and the fact you said he was nice I would just leave it the way you agreed to. You have every right to be proud of your find and maybe the next one will be a solo FTF for you. There is no written rule here, its simply just a thing of etiquette.
  16. 4.5 but thats a whole new debate ... teehee!!!
  17. Ah well that makes the Alien remark clear The title of the thread suggests its a CITO event so thats why I commented. CITO's don't need to be just about garbage (I've held two tree plantings) it covers other environmental initiatives so its very likely you could publish it as a CITO if you wanted. Either way best of luck its a great idea.
  18. What would you be doing in this area to promote conservation and make it a CITO event? I especially like the idea of you working with the landowner and for cachers to see an area not normally open to the public. You might need to discuss it farther with your reviewer to make sure it meets the CITO guidelines. Keep us posted with how you are making out
  19. Welcome to Geocaching, enjoy your new dancing shoes
  20. I agree, have them sign the log its part of their geocaching history.
  21. We are from Ontario as well and recently visited Nevada. We thoroughly enjoyed the caches in Red Rock Canyon and The Valley of Fire. The Virtuals on the Vegas strip were also a lot of fun, seeing as we don't have many here in Ontario it was a nice break from the usual.
  22. Ugh I forgot to get back to you. I just looked at all the neat packages all the geopets have been receiving and we certainly want to be included next year
  23. You had my attention until this post. Posting the screenshots from a private section of a forum that you control is absolutely shameful. It sounds like UTAG has a history of bad interaction and bad blood. Of course I am commenting based on this single thread only so I don't know the complete history. It's a shame it has come to this but it sounds like its time for everyone to stand back, enjoy geocaching for what it is and leave all this politics and bad blood behind for a while. I wish you all the very best in your future endeavors as an association.
  24. 2. What theme you collect around Seems as though we seem to have aquired a little collection of dog coins. Our profile picture should explain why
