  1. I had a garmin 62s and when I uploaded waypoints from GSAK they would appear in a list of geocaches and icons would appear on the map. I now have a garmin 64st and when I upload waypoints from GSAK they still appear in the list of geocaches but they do not appear on the map. I played with all the settings I could find on the 64st but couldn't geet the waypoint icons to appear on the map. Not sure if this is an issue with the 64st or with GSAK. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I received the following from admin. The link for beta maps works and I have my personalization back. "planned The addition of many new major features plus the record traffic levels we're experiencing has caused some serious performance issues for the site. Some features like the personalization of the maps have been disabled temporarily just to allow the site to function. Fixing these and other performance issues is a top priority. In the meantime, you can access the beta map (http://www.geocaching.com/map/beta) and still have personalization. (However, keep in mind that display of PMO caches has not yet been implemented on the beta map.) Moun10Bike Admin, Geocaching"
  3. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for the link. My vote is definitely to return the found cache symbols to the map.
  4. Am I the only one not getting an interface with Geocaching finds on Google maps?
  5. I didn't write this but I use it from time to time: What a clever way to hide an LPC. Usually the film canister is under the NW corner of the cover, but this one was in the SE corner! This therefore required a lot of extra effort to lean a little further out of the window. I almost had to release my seatbelt! Also, I really enjoyed the looks I got from muggles as I lifted the skirt with a loud screech! Thanks for taking me to this scenic parking lot!
  6. Sgt. Byrd was a student of mine at Bomb Camp (NAVSCOLEOD) here in Florida. He is a fine young man and dedicated soldier and bomb technician. I thank him and all like him for their service.
  7. I think you can just give it a different name. Not sure though. Thanks, that's what I did. Couldn't give the .gpx file I download from GSAK a different name but I changed the name in the GPX folder in the 62st and now the new .gpx doesn't override the old one. Thanks.
  8. Thanks fegan, I couldn't figure out how to change the new file name that GSAK downloaded so I changed the old file name in the 62st and then the new file was added. This worked just fine.
  9. One issue I'm having is when I download a new .gpx file to my 62st from GSAK it overrides the .gpx file that's already loaded in the 62st. I have to combine all databases from GSAK and download as one .gpx file. Sometimes I just want to add caches when I still have ones loaded that I'm yet to find. Does anyone know how to keep the new file from overriding the old one?

  11. Thanks, I just figured out that I let my membership expire. Thanks again.
  12. Why is the download to gpx file not working on cache pages? The "gpx file" button is grayed out. Also the hide my finds feature is not working on the google maps.
  13. I used my new 62st today after 4 years of using a 60CSx. I like the .gpx download feature so I don't have to deal with a seperate Palm for the cache info. Loading the .gpx files was no problem but my question is: I can't figure how to delete a cache (either found or not) in the 62st. Pretty straight forward with the 60CSx. I'm sure I'm missing something pretty simple. None of the downloaded instruction manuals address this. Any help here?
  14. My personal favorite hint was: "Greenville, NC newspaper"
  15. It appears to be available on Amazon.
  16. Here are two creative puzzle cachers by a local cacher. Blank Slate Visible Caches What are your's? Not necessarily hard to solve but creative!
  17. No big mystery, using the standard Geo-code it translates to the lamp post and rock are still there.
