Today did quite a number of caches...at the first two caches somehow seemed that gps didnt have a good accuracy. But at the rest (12 of them) afterwards Vista worked perfect and flawlessly and showed more or less the same spots then one 60Csx and a PDA -GPS. So for me seems I have found a perfect combination as this 2.70/2.50 combi didnt have the drift of the 2.70/2.60 combi and also didnt have a certain sluggishness with slow speeds the 2.70/2.30 did show. yes...a belated thank you from me on this board as well. Hopefully it will cure all our problems with the vista and we finally all can concentrate on the things we want to do WITH the device and not the device itself . Results earliest on weekend from my side as well as a bad case of cold doesnt encourage to go caching

Hi Kyle, I use the same combination and am quite happy with it. Betatest of my long cache currently in review proved that after the update the coordinates were right finally. RaF

just checked...my vista hcx bought last september has Bravo2 Chipset and I did experience the drift quite a bit until I downgraded again to 2.30 GPS-FW. PS: Idea? Perhaps as its a unified FW it doesnt really work well for all types of chipsets, thats why an older GPS-FW works better for the older GPS-Chip?

yes I think you should be fine with those old GPS-FW versions...I still very much rue havin done the update from 2.50 then. Luckily thx to this forum I at least am back to 2.30 now...not the best FW I had had but def. better then 2.60. And sadly Garmin only deemed a new device-SW necessary with 2.70
