  1. Hi All. I have been trading for quite a while and I guess the following scenario has happened a couple of times. I trade a coin and the coin sent to me has some major blemish rendering it useless against any future trades or sales. I am most likely apt to shrug my shoulders and say, "oh well, someone had to get this coin may as well have been me"(I am Canadian!) BUT this is a coin that I really wanted and I am pretty disappointed. Do I contact the trader or the person who minted the coin? It was a coin minted recently for a good cause. Should I just suck it up? Or what?
  2. This is a really great topic. Thanks for bringing up the 'inevitable' drneal. I hope everything is well with you though...you had me worried! We are flying home to Canada soon and well I guess you never know what could happen. It is good to have a contingency plan in place. I do keep a spreadsheet of data for all of my coins. As soon as they are purchased I input the price, seller, date, etc. and when I receive them in goes the codes for activation. So I am fairly set up in that regard. Now, who do I leave them to?
  3. Does anyone know if the Wizard Mystery coin is still being sent out? That is one coin that is really my style, for some reason I just really like it. I think it is the cartooney design, no wait the colours, no....the sentiment. Yeah that's it!
  4. Yay! Congrats Mickeydv:lol: and thank you sooooooooooo much mystery sender, you made BOTH of our days!
  5. Thanks for being so patient whilst I ironed out the kinks in my computer Mark!
  6. There are some coins I would really like to get my hands on someday. One for a friend...and one for me! So I'm putting this out to the universe (you guys), a request for trades to acquire Benchmark Pyramids of Giza Benchmark Captain Cook (we are taking the scenic route on our move back to Canada...through Hawaii! And one of our stops includes a cache at the very spot where Captain Cook met his fate. How cool would that be to have that benchmark to remember it by! TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK,
  7. I won one of these coins in the Thailand cointest and received it on Friday. It really is a lovely coin! Thanks Motocycleboi!
  8. Just ONE? But...there are so many:D We are like a big online family and while I have met a few coiners 'face to face' there are many more that I count as good friends. I moved to Australia from Canada over two years ago. I had no family and no friends here in Western Australia, no one to connect to so that I could throw down some new roots. Tsunrisebey (Stephanie) heard about the big move and suggested that I get into contact with a local coiner and cacher, 3BlindEyes. Separate from that another coiner contacted me to tell me how excited she was that I was moving here and that she was planning a trip to Australia in a few months. I can't tell you how much that meant to me, that someone who I've never met would contact me and offer their help from the other side of the world. 3BE was really helpful in getting me settled and learned in the ways of the Western Australians. And both of those cacher/coiners remain great friends to this day. After I moved, I had good days and bad days (I had to leave my dogs in Canada) but I also had really great days due to some very kind and generous mystery coiners. The first coin I received as a gift in Australia was a Southern Planisphere sent from my coiner buddy in Canada, just days after we settled into our new house. After that I received the Wishing coin, Geo Bandit, Geosasquatch, NWO, Loon-a-tick, Dutch Mystery, COINTACT, Carpe Diem, Dark Knight, Geocoin angel and Imagine Mystery coins! Those were my extremely happy days! I was very fortunate to be able to mint my own coin while here in Australia. I have enjoyed giving them away to friends and trading them and most of all the great emails I get when I leave them in caches as a gift for the next finder. I count myself very lucky to have stumbled onto this hobby and I am very happy to say that we are moving back to Canada in April. I can't wait to attend a geocoinfest in the US and meet so many of those other coiners who have traded with me and who also have become great friends. I could go on and on....but I'll stop there. You get an idea of what the community of coiners mean to me:P
  9. Does it matter which one? There are two new versions for sale at coins and pins.
  10. For some reason I can log onto the forums and post there. I can now log into my account but anything else that I try to do from my account (including your friend request) leads me to an error page. There must be some bugs in there this morning
  11. This is really odd but the gc.com system is not letting me log in! Anyone else had this problem? Anyway Mark I can't go to your profile...I am interested in the Isle of Man depending on which version and the Quigley Jones sailboat also possibly the fliegenpilz mushrooms.

  24. Okay well today is Cinnabear's first day of xmas holidays so she drew this one, well part of it anyway. She stopped when she realized how intricate the design was but I think it is still recognizable
