First of all I would like to say hello to all fellow GPS enthusiasts, I just upgraded from US Topo ( 3 cd) to the 2008 DVD. The newer 2008 looks more accurate but I noticed that the navigational aids (bouys, etc) were absent, so I basically had to buy a another Micro SD and keep the old maps, I am no serious boater but once in a while I do go out on a boat and I take my Vista, resigned to the fact there are no perfect maps. I also upgraded to Worldmap 4.00 the navigational aids were still there although not as extensive as in the USA Topo.

I own a e-trex vista and I have a carry case that has a heavy plastic see-through cover on the case, the outside gets beat up a little but the screen is fine, it cost about $15 but spend a little money in the short run, saves headaches in the long run.
