  1. What's the difference between the europe and America versions? I have a Explorist 500 that was bought after the July WAAS switch, and it's horrible with tracking as it searches for the old birds. Will the european version 'fix' that issue? Also, where do you find the firmware? I've had no luck...
  2. A cow-orker (yes,he orks cows) told me bout it. Now he's stopped for some reason, and I'm taking over!
  3. A lot of cemeteries are on private property, in fact, I'd say most. I think that the amount of private vs. public is a bit regional. Something that I have always wanted to know: How much is a "bit"? 12.5 cents. Right. 1/8 of a 'pieces of 8'. 2 bits (as in shave and a haircut) is... 2/8 or 1/4 of the gold coin. 1/4, aka 'a quarter'.
  4. Here's something I wrote, web based. It converts your gpx file into a pdf file: http://www.ligeocaching.org/gpxpdf
  5. I use a Nokia n800 palmtop computer (think larger PDA) with a bluetooth GPSr for caching. Since the computer goes with me everywhere, I wrote a script that will convert the pocket queries .gpx files into basic PDF documents. If anyone wants to use it, feel free to point at http://www.ligeocaching.org/gpxpdf . I'm still working on cleaning up the embeded html that some of the entries have, but it's useable as it stands.
  6. What are the hemostats for? People use them for many things. You may be familiar with them from one of those other uses. Yeah, 'one of those other uses' made them quite popular when I was in college. LOL Yeah... they're really useful for clamping spurting blood vessels closed when you reach in to a dark split in a rock and find the sharp edges with the inside of your forearm...
  7. Let me get this straight. You have never found a cache, never hidden a cache, just got an account a week ago, but want to write a book on the topic? Interesting........ Nah... he said "publish" a book, not write one. Publishers find/pay the authors, and contract out the printing of the book to the printing houses (some publishers have their own printers).
