  1. We also have a Christmas coin in the works that you will be able to hang on your tree this year. The order went in today and I expect the coins will be available shortly after the U.S. Thanksgiving.

The coin will have its own icon and the metal finishes will consist of

    150 AG

    75 AS

    25 AC

Hope you like it... and we'll keep you posted

  2. They have no other choice but to wait. The time is way over PayPal's limits so they can't file a complaint against them. Each person as an individual has lost for the most part a small amount of money, so it's not wirth taking them to small claims court. The ones that bought a large amount of coins would probably have to file in their hometown (assuming here) but would still cost more in attorney fees than they probably have lost anyhow. No matter how you cut it, there is not much the consumer can do. I find it sad how some people still want to give them the nefit of the doubt, as if there is any doubt as to how porrly this entire buisness has been run. And to think Jim still wants to do buisness here with the same people that have gotten taken to the cleaners!

Ya, you're right..people don't have much recourse I guess. I just makes me so angry that the criminals have more rights and second chances than are afforded the rest of us.

  3. You know, I have no grudge against these folks and don't know them from Adam but I read this stuff week after week and I just do not understand why this has gone as far as it has? Pure and simple, this is/was theft and the people that have been ripped off have a right to expect their money back. I don't even have any money invested but it angers me to no end that this is being treated in such a low key manner - almost swept under the rug.

We are affording all the leniency in the World to these people and they don't even have the decency to come in here and update folks? What kind of garbage is that.... One of the conditions that should have been imposed was for this company to make weekly public updates and answer questions to THIS community and not just their signup list....since this is the place they came to get the money in the first place.

I commend all you folks that are waiting so patiently as I know that I couldn't do it...

  4. While I would love to be one of the lucky ones that get in on those 15 minute sellout sessions that Tsun usually has, I have no right to expect to get any. I will try (so far unsuccessfully) but it isn't the vendor that needs to worry about my network speed, typing skills, sleeping habits..what ever.

The vendor has a product to sell and limiting the number a person can sell to a customer is really none of our business. They have a lot invested and have a right to get back their costs as quickly as possible....and trust me, there isn't a huge profit margin for them here.

If you see a coin you like, don't wait on it and if you do wait, don't expect it to be there later. If you miss out on a coin, try posting in the trade thread before going to ebay. And for those people that buy just to sell on ebay, they have that right as well...even if some folks may not trust the ebay sellers, I have found some wonderful coins out there. If a coin goes too high for your liking, just don't bid on it. None of us has any 'rights' to own any one coin.

  5. OK WAIT!

Let me give you all a newbie perspective.

    <snip>

let us know if we have done anything in this forum that would make you not like us ,,we are gr8 poor pepole...lol :)

We all eww and ahh over the many wonderful coins that exist...that's why we are all addicted. There is nothing wrong with letting folks know how much you may like their coin and that you hope to one day own it. Post away as designers like to know their coins are what people want to have.

I also don't think anyone should feel down or take this thread personal. Threads like these pop up once in a while and I believe they are very good for the community. It's nice to have some real conversation and it helps bring the focus back to coin discussions. (my opinion anyway)

Please understand that people put a lot of time, effort and money into coins and yet most people are thrilled to still gift them out. I think though when some people get a little over zealous or at times almost expect them to be given out, then it kind of takes away from the joy of that giving. And of course most people love to trade which is as much a thrill as the get of the coin in the first place - but the trading needs to be respectful and accept 'No' for an answer sometimes. I may be wrong as I wasn't around at the beginning but I believe that is how this community was built - around the trading of coins and getting to know each other that way.

  6. i have to agree with you, rifleman, i look at the heart's desire thread as an intense request for a trade, not a plea for a gift.

I guess I would disagree. I like the intent of the Heart Desire thread and how it all started out but it's turned into a request for free coins. If it was a request for a trade, people could post in the trade thread. Even if it was merely a post stating a hearts desire it wouldn't be so bad...but boy, there is some obvious begging for free coins going on in that thread which can't be denied.

I haven't been involved in this forum for all that long but I used to wonder why some of the 'old timers' didn't come around much anymore. I can say that I can somewhat understand now...after some of the emails, "offers" and requests I got it really did turn me off a bit.

and to anyone that has emailed me recently for trade requests....it's not you I'm talking about :) I'm okay with legitimate trade requests..

  7. I'm with you on this. It is one of the reasons I don't frequent the site as often anymore and stay away from posting trade requests. I really feel bad for folks in difficult situations as we are no stranger to this ourselves...but I come here to try and get away from those things.

  9. I came home from a very bad day of work to find a pile of bills on my desk...as I worked my way down I noticed a Black Envelope!!! could it be? Well yes it is, a package from the Geo_Bandit. The kids are keeping the envelope and stamp as they think it's the coolest thing ever to have your own personal stamp. Of course the coin is pretty awesome too

Thank you so much Geo_Bandit for the fantastic gift and for making our day a little brighter. I don't know who you are but many blessing from our family to yours. Thanks.

  10. Will these be ordered through PM's, preorders or reservations? Or none of the above? They are just incredible.

None of the above. Once we have them ready for sale in the store, I will post the sales links in this thread.

Lookin good! So glad to see you went forward with this one. It really came out beautifully!

edit to add: Way to break those borders!

Thank you. They turned into a lot more than originally planned with the 3 versions but I think they worked out well.

  11. Here is a look at our latest designs - The Phoenix series. The series consists of 3 designs @ 1.75" in 3 different metals - Antique Silver, Antique Gold and Black Nickel.

These geocoins should be available on or about 11/03/2008. I will post the links when they are up and ready for sale. Hope you like them...

[Edit] forgot to mention that the tracking information will be stamped/etched on the side of the coins.

  12. Can you give some details about the coin such as the images and what they mean if anything? I saw these at GCF and thought they were beautiful.

Sure....I'll do my best to explain

The images on the coin express a combination of many things which are drawn from family Heritage (Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Germanic), a fondness for Celtic/Heraldic imagery and of course our beliefs. The Celtic cross itself is a symbol that has been around for many centuries and is a cultural blend of medieval Christianity and ancient Celtic traditions.

The front of the coin portrays a lion, rose and palms. The lion is a common symbol and figures prominently in English and Scottish history (as well as many other European cultures). It traditionally symbolized bravery, valor, strength, and royalty (of which I'm not but I can dream).

The rose's special status is explained 'by its special association with comfort, generosity and discretion' and that 'Red roses have an inevitable association with the redness of the blood that all must shed for freedom, for the Fatherland, for the Church.'.

The palms symbolize victory and martyrdom

The back of the coin signifies the heavens and earth and it's creatures and that we need to be mindful of our surroundings and that it is our responsibility to be stewards of the gifts we've been given.

This is what I was thinking....but of course my hope is that each person can put their own meaning to these images and the coin.

  13. I've noticed another coin on other sites being labelled as a C.H. Quality Coins Geocoinfest 2008 coin. It is shaped like a maltese cross with a rose in the centre of the cross, lions on either side, and what looks like palms on the top and bottom arms of the cross. It has translucent enamel in a variety of colours. I haven't seen a pic of the other side.

Anybody know anything about this coin? Was it available for sale, or just to attendees?

I love the look of this coins, and would like to get all versions!!!

I love that coin! Another amazing design by Theotokos!

Here is a "bad" picture of it. If I remember correctly, it also came in red and green.

Thanks for posting the picture Joni. This is another of our designs that CH Quality brought to GCF but it is not a GCF coin. It is called the Celtic Cross. It comes in 3 colors, Blue, Red, Green and 3 metals AG, AS, G. Here is a picture of the back. Most did sell at GCF and I'm not sure what Tom has planned for the remaining.

  14. Does anyone know geocacher Summit670 from Port Coquitlam, BC? They've only started geocaching this year and they picked up my Plumbrokeacres Geocoin in April - it hasn't moved since. They have been logging into the forum still so I guess they are somewhat active but they don't have any recent cache finds.

I've sent a few email but had no response. I would gladly send a stamped envelope to have the coin sent back to me. Any thing that can help get this coin moving again would be greatly appreciated.

  15. I'm having the same problem trying to activate mine as well, FYI so its not an isolated occurance.

I've sent some emails to find out when the codes will be loaded..

For some reason the codes were not loaded yet. They should be ready sometime today or tomorrow at the latest.

  16. This is a rather disturbing coin in my opinion....

Now, I'm also guessing that something like this took a bit of time to design and work with the mint. To me, that's a slap in the face of those people that have been waiting so long and had invested money, time and faith in this company. I've read that there were difficult circumstances that prevented and delayed coins minting/artwork from getting done in a timely manner - and for that I am sorry. Yet there seems to have been plenty of time to produce this coin which only shows a lack of care for the customer.

Shame on Jeremy, Jim and Paula for treating the people that made GC and these vendors what they are with such a lack of respect and caring.
