  1. You've done this before, haven't you? Brilliant idea!
  2. I can't compete with the first to find geniuses around here, but it'd give me something to do at lunch time if someone popped a few about the place.
  3. No, unfortunately he came through to the wrong department because the switchboard hadn't a clue what geocaching was. I wish I was in the department that get to say yes or no. Fingers crossed for a yes.
  4. The most unexpected phone call I've ever had at work - a geocacher phoned for permission to place a cache, very unexpected. I hope he does get to place the cache, I could pop out at lunch time.
  5. Thanks Red90. I'll stop worrying about it now.
  6. I was cold, the buttons and fingers were stiff so I thought I'd not pressed hard enough and pressed again, ended up on a page I didn't recognise. Moment of blind panic, etc. Previously it would show a "path to destination" but not a straight line, it showed turns. As of yesterday it showed a straight line from where I was to the destination. If I'd followed it I'd have had to climb fences and trample private land. I've been through my manual and can't find anything about this, in fact it says that a GOTO is straight line navigation. I thought I'd restore defaults but there isn't one in the manual to restore everything. Only restoring defaults on a few separate pages/menus. Now I wonder if I imagined it and it always showed a straight line instead of the route I should take. Anyone know how I can fix it or reset the entire thing?
  7. Thanks for the welcome MrsB, that's what I'm looking for (will I enjoy it) before I go out and spend money on a GPS. I'm quite sure I'll be addicted I walk the dogs every day past a few caches and never knew it! Melodysk from champdogs?
  8. Hello I'm a newbie and can't wait to have a go at geocaching but I'm also a bit scared of doing anything wrong. It would be good if I could join up with a local "oldie" there is so much to read on here and I don't have a GPS/PDA thingy yet. I'm in Nottingham!
