  1. I "borrowed" the idea of my sig item from SBPhishy. I bought regular Shrinky Dink sheets from Michael's Hobby Shop, along with clear model car "paint". I went to another hobby shop and bought about ten feet of long ball bearing chain, connectors and the small bags seen in my pic. I made the design using Photoshop and then transferred it to Word. I think if fit 8 of them on one sheet. I then printed it out using the draft mode. I then cut them out, making sure not to touch the ink because it would smudge. I then used a hole puncher to punch the hole for the chain. Then I followed the directions on the Shrinky Dink package. They curl up but if you wait, they'll flatten out. I think being circular helps in flattening out correctly. I then let them cool off and sprayed them with the clear model car "paint". I cut the chain to length, then put the connectors on and put it through the hole. See my pic for final product.
  2. I posted this on the Shrinky Dink thread but in case anyone's following this one instead: Back at Summer Fun we used to use the styrofoam trays supermarkets use to pack meat (white tray), fish (blue tray), chicken (yellow tray) to make "Shrinky-Dink-like" items. I'm pretty sure we just used regular coloring pens and then we put them into the toaster oven and watched them shrink before our eyes. Of course, if you weren't careful with them you could snap them in half.

  4. In response to Triogeo...I'm originally from Hawaii and from my Boy Scouting experiences, it kind of looks like Guava wood, but I could be wrong. I have a hiking staff back on Maui at my parent's home that looks just like it. And it's really, really heavy. Does the bark come off really easy? Cause when I started to take the bark off, it came off without any trouble.
  5. Only a four inch scratch on my leg from the notorious kiawe tree thorns on Maui. Took a couple of weeks to heal. Not as bad as some of your other injuries!
  6. <----Here's Pochi sticking his tongue out!
  7. I tried turning off the map data that I had uploaded from MapSend, so the only map on my GPSr is the base map. Everything looks okay now. The waypoints are where they should be and my home is no longer in the middle of the ocean.
  8. I'm also having problems with my Magellan Meridian green. Since loading street data in my area from Mapsend Streets and Destinations, all of the waypoints I input through Easy GPS seem to be a good hundred meters off where they should be. I live near the ocean and when I'm at home, it says I'm about a hundred meters offshore! Could it be the street data I uploaded? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
