Quick Question. I'm trying NOT to overplan our trip, but of course, I started looking at Lana'i today. It has only 5 caches on the island, All Regulars. Is the $120 and walking to them worth the day trip ti the island. Would arrive Near GCZWVF.
The Steaks
Lana`i is a great place to visit and unwind, as the pace of life is really slow. You can walk from one side of town (Lana`i City) to the other. As for the caches, you could find Shark Cove Overlook after you come over on the ferry. I believe you can catch a shuttle up to Lana'i City. There, you could walk to Munro Trail and Koloiki Lookout, but in my opinion, it'd probably take all day. You'd definitely need to rent a Jeep to get to Kaunolu Village and Garden of the Gods. If you're going to be there just for the day, it's doable but you'd probably have to take the first ferry to Lana`i and take the last ferry back to Maui if you want to find all of the caches. If you do rent a Jeep, it'll make getting Munro Trail and Koloiki Lookout faster, so you'll be able to enjoy a walk around Lana`i City or some time down at Manele Bay.

I think a lot of former coiners have moved on to another type of round shiny thing, which is much cheaper to get minted.
One reason I myself haven't minted a personal coin in probably four years or so because I still have a bunch of my last personal coins left. And the cost of producing a coin has gone up since then.

I'm not in this league but am playing in a couple of Yahoo Leagues. Here's a list of a few players I drafted in one league or the other.
Peyton Manning
Jamaal Charles
Kenny Britt
Nate Kaeding
See a familiar theme?
What's up with all the injuries? I think it was from a lack of a full training camp.

Nope
I would suggest making grab bags with only unactivated coins and grab bags with only activated coins, with the activated coins going for cheaper than the unactivated.

I recently bought one of those books from somebody who has a bunch from The Caching Place (which doesn't sell them any longer). It seemed like a great idea. What I discovered is that the glue holding the pages together between each row of coins doesn't stick and the plastic inserts have sticky glue all over the edges. The coins fall out every time the pages are turned. Has anybody else had better luck with these? Wonder if it's just because it's old (it wasn't a used one, just been around for a while). Anyway, I was disappointed with it and am still searching for an easy way to display my coins.
The only one I ever bought had the same problem. I think it was the weight of the coins and moving the book around that could have possibly caused this problem. I never tried to fix it but maybe superglue might work?

I was able to get into the new 17195 league, but I am getting an error message for each of the first three leagues. Is there a leading zero on the league numbers or a missing digit?
You should be able to click on the links in the first post and they'll take you to the sign up page for each league.

I know what the problem was. I was trying to sign up through the Survival Football page when we're supposed to sign up through the Pick Em Football page, which is here:
http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem
I was able to sign up and those who've been having problems, go through the page I linked above.

edit #1-I tried, just got back message that I'm already in group...
edit #2-tried again with alternate yahell profile, had no problem... maybe it was a last night yahell problem?
Just tried again and same error message. I'll keep trying.

I also got the message (the password is incorrect) when I tried to sign up for the full pick em league.

Signed up for all three, thanks for setting this up!

I am in a similar boat as the original poster, I must be crazy, as I have not figured out how to acquire these coins... We've been geocaching a few years, off and on. I was very excited when I found a trackable, unfortunately when I traced it, (at Pathways.com) it turned out to be a freebie. Now some people would be happy about that, but I wanted to take it to a new place and drop it off, then watch as it traveled! My daughter in law is from Bangkok and I had hoped to take one there and have it find its way back home to the Midwest. But I digress...As I went to the geocaching store for my first purchases of coins, I was disappointed to see just a few available. I am obviously missing something here, as I have seen hundreds of designs. How do I get other designs or choices? Surely there are more available for sale than the few on here. Not really getting how to "BUY" these things! Do they all come from trading?? HELP!!
Google geocoins and have fun!

I'm a guide on the South Fork of the American River, a Class III/III+ section of whitewater located just East of Folsom Lake/Sacramento area. I noticed that there are a lot of high terrain, high difficulty caches along the banks of the river that are usually hiked to. I think most of them can be rafted to with much greater ease. Some of them even claim to only be accessible by raft.
None of the commercial outfitters offer a geocaching trip, however, I am a guide for a commercial outfitter AND I just bought my own raft. Rafts are rather difficult to navigate with just 1 person though. Most of my friends would be bored to tears after the first cache so I want to fill my boat with people who will have fun going with me.
I have 37 caches bookmarked along a 21-mile stretch of river. I have no idea how close some of these are to the river, but I know a lot of them are fairly close to the water. There are 3 sections on this river that could be broken into 2-3 days.
My weekends get filled up with paying commercial trips, but I'm mostly free on weekdays as long as we plan ahead a week or two. Anyone want to go?
You should try posting on the forums here:

I know they can be adopted or something, but is it possible to unactivate coins so they can be offered for sale like on IOffer or something?
Activated geocoins can be adopted to another cacher but they cannot be unactivated once they are activated.
Edit: I guess they can be unactivated in special circumstances. Huh, who knew?

i got an american flag micro coin at GWS and when i got home and tried to activate it, there is already a coin with that tracking number, i called the coin company and e-mailed them and no response can anyone help?
Was the coin with the same tracking # also an American Flag Micro geocoin?
Also, you've probably heard this already but a 0 can look like a O, B-8, S-5, etc.
TB3RWBF is the coin that is active with my coins tracking number, And i tried every possible "wrong" letter. The weirdest part is the activated coin, the owner says its a canadian flag coin but the icon show an american flag
It's possible that the tracking # was used more than once. This happened to me before when I went to activate one of my coins, I found out that another coin had the same tracking # and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I contacted the vendor that minted it and they said there was nothing they could do. I got it through a trade and the other trader couldn't help me either.

Some advice to those visitors who come to our island home, never turn your back to the ocean, as the waves can be very unpredictable. Unfortunately, near this cache Earthcache @ Maui's Blowhole, a visitor from California was knocked by a wave into the blowhole and has been missing ever since.
News article about the incident
Be safe!

Took a short trip to Oahu last week and cached/hike Diamond Head Crater and the Aiea Loop Trail. I can recommend both hikes as there are a good mixture of caches, views, and exercise on both! And be sure to take lots of water on both hikes!

Good luck to VG in the next couple of weeks! Can I make up ground, like Smoke needs to do?
